Oh please, Br'er Fox, don't throw me into the briar-patch.
So goes the line from the old American and long ago Disney-ized folk tale Song of the South by Joel Chandler Harris. The rabbit pleads with the fox not to throw him into the briar patch. The fox does just what he is asked not to do - and thus tossed into the thicket where rabbits thrive, the rabbit escapes. Laughing all the way.
The scene comes to mind with the news that Univision has abruptly told Donald Trump that they will no longer carry the Trump-owned Miss Universe pageant. Why? It seems that the network is displeased that in his announcement speech The Donald said:
When do we beat Mexico at the border? Theyre laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. But theyre killing us economically.
The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody elses problems. When Mexico sends its people, theyre not sending their best. Theyre not sending you. Theyre sending people that have lots of problems, and theyre bringing those problems with us. Theyre bringing drugs. Theyre bringing crime. Theyre rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

Yup. I’m done with them too. AND all my family!
Lets watch the debates and see how it plays out.
Trump can play the populist but Cruz must win the arguments.
My beef is with Starbucks, not the court (although them too on a different issue). I’m sick of these people using their business to make political statements. They need to serve the damn coffee while at work then go home and join the political fray as themselves, not hiding behind a company name.
“Actually, it’s better.”

I agree. I especially like McDonald’s McAfee ice coffee on a hot summer’s day.
I’ll put it another way, no way Cruz or anyone else will take Trump as #2.
“The coffee at McDonalds for a dollar is just fine.”
Actually, the coffee at McDonald’s tastes great. I really like it.
Well, this is a discussion site. What ticket do you see?
Yep.. Vietnam was an easy win if we bombed the dikes. Nobody wanted to win that one.
“Donald would gladly LOSE (any political battle) if he made a few billion in givernment largesse..
Hes a fascist..”
You don’t know what you are talking about, obviously haven’t a clue what a fascist is, and your head is up your hosepipe.
Well said! Me too!
I’m only saying what it won’t be for now. Won’t be Trump or Carson. Those guys need to aim lower on their first run.
Yup.
America could have won that war in a couple weeks if America’s “leaders” wanted to do so. In fact, in strictly military terms, the war was an ass kicking. The Tet Offensive was a debacle for the Viet Cong.
But the left won on the political front (think Cronkite), so we retreated. Ugh.
No, that would be This guy
I like it that he put the cherry on top by telling the Univision Suits where they should shove their golf clubs, too.
Leni
Are they going to keep sending white women from Latin America as the contestants?
You dont know what you are talking about, obviously havent a clue what a fascist is, and your head is up your hosepipe.
When business and givernment merge it is called Fascism..
in degrees..
China is fascist NOT communist.. as is Russia..
AND most of the socialist world...
Communism and Fascism are BOTH Socialism..
Who’s BOSS.. Business or Socialism?... it varys day to day.. week to week.. month to month..
but they have the same exact agenda.. SLAVERY..
Well, if you know what it won’t be you must have some idea on what it might be. Correct?
It’s OK to share. I’m not an attack dog.
I just don’t see how a JR. Senator can oppose the old timers, who have all the power, if they don’t want him to.
