Senator Marco Rubio and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush have responded to SCOTUS’ illegal same-sex marriage ruling by saying that it’s now time to move on. Here’s the senator from Florida:
“While I disagree with this decision, we live in a republic and must abide by the law. As we look ahead, it must be a priority of the next president to nominate judges and justices committed to applying the Constitution as written and originally understood…
“I firmly believe the question of same sex marriage is a question of the definition of an institution, not the dignity of a human being. Every American has the right to pursue happiness as they see fit. Not every American has to agree on every issue, but all of us do have to share our country. A large number of Americans will continue to believe in traditional marriage, and a large number of Americans will be pleased with the Court’s decision today. In the years ahead, it is my hope that each side will respect the dignity of the other.”
Jeb Bush basically feels the same.
“Guided by my faith, I believe in traditional marriage. I believe the Supreme Court should have allowed the states to make this decision. I also believe that we should love our neighbor and respect others, including those making lifetime commitments. In a country as diverse as ours, good people who have opposing views should be able to live side by side. It is now crucial that as a country we protect religious freedom and the right of conscience and also not discriminate.”
In other words: Jeb says he’s personally against gay marriage, but now that SCOTUS has issued its ridiculously illegal ruling, it’s time to move on and start talking about other issues.

I just heard Larry Sabato say on Fox that the majority of Indpenedents are for same sex marriage and the Republicans don’t want to turn off those voters so they are not going to rock that boat.

Everyone with an ounce of sense can see that, yes, Obama achieved what he set out to accomplish.
No, Rubio, the people actually voted, spoke their desires. The SCOTUS actually upended the rights of the public to pass laws they wanted on the books. If we are to give up and let any branch of government do what he SC and the WH house have been doing then we don’t deserve a republic. We deserve what we get, which anybody with a grain of common sense knows will be chaos.
Remember the Patriots were a minority in 1776 through much of the war.

HEY, AMERICA!
Why do some conservative spokesmen refuse to get behind the Convention of the States but prefer preaching end times and doom and gloom? Of course this is all upsetting and even depressing. But it’s time these “conservative spokesmen” do more than whine and preach about end times and help us restore the republic. I know this is difficult. I know this is daunting. I am well aware of it. And some of those preaching end times have never lifted a finger to help rally people to this effort. Are we to surrender? Are we to leave this disaster to our children and grandchildren? Is that what the founding fathers did? Is that what past generations did? We, the people, have faced extremely perilous forces in the past. Let’s take a little time and try and recover from the latest blows against liberty and the civil society, and then let us recoup and kick them in the political teeth! We need to take power seized by the federal government and return it back to the state legislatures and the people. If we do not fight, no one will do it for us.

Cruz is right as usual, and it's only going to get worse because today's public schools are busy teaching anti-Christian, anti-family, anti-American propaganda right out of the liberal/atheist handbook, "How to destroy American patriotism and Christianity in 1001 easy lessons".
My 2 grandchildren were home schooled from pre-school on up. But never the less my granddaughter is now enrolled in UGA as a freshman, which is just what I have unsuccessfully tried to prevent since the day she was born. All I can do now is pray that the moral/Christian standards that she was taught will keep her from believing the lies and deception that she will no doubt encounter in at least some of her classes.

The time for polite politics is most likely past. Action, I do not believe is filing paper and belaboring points of order in a rigged house or senate or court that legislates from the bench. .
From all I understand, the Convention of the States can have the power to stop judges too.
the convention itself does not DO anything but come up with possible amendments to the Constitution, the states would still have to ratify them.

Unjust laws are not laws at all and do not bind in conscience. This is a time for peaceful conscientious objection, not surrender. A true statesman would say something like this.
Bush: “good people who have opposing views should be able to live side by side.”
We were living side by side in peace with people of the homosexual orientation when this nonsense kicked in in earnest about 20 years ago. Though people of the homosexual orientation were sometimes the victims of unjust violence, these incidents were rare and sporadic. There was no kicking in of doors and persecution of them. They actually suffer more violence from other people of the homosexual orientation. Will they live “side by side” with people who object to their lifestyles? Their persecution of florists, bakers, etc, who won’t surrender their conscience, shows they won’t live “side by side” in peace with those who dissent.
I happen to believe that we are living in the period just prior to Christ's 2nd coming and I pray daily that it will come very soon. However, that hope doesn't hinder me in speaking out against the unconstitutional judicial edicts that are playing such a large part in the ongoing destruction of rights that don't conform to what the current ultra-liberal judicial, executive, and congressional powers want America to be. I don't advocate a 2nd Revolutionary war, but I do strenuously advocate a return to the Judeo-Christian ethics and standards that, at least in part, inspired the mostly Christian patriots to rebel against the most powerful nation on earth at that time.
People who believe in Christianity and high moral standards usually vote conservative, but I'm not at all sure that the current crop of government schooled young voters share my belief in what were almost universal standards of patriotism and Christian morality in generations of the recent past. IMHO, if America survives the current crisis in ethical and moral standards it will be by the skin of our teeth and the grace of our Christian God.
Jeb is following the same path he took with Terri Schiavo. He fought like a tiger to prevent her murder—UNTIL it was time for HIM to intervene and save her life. THEN, saving her life became something that only “kooks” and “extemists” wanted.
In other words, the Left just has to get CLOSE to achieving what they want, and THEN the only “reasonable” thing for “conservatives” to do is CAVE IN.
The Supreme Court has been abusing its authority since 1789. It gets away with this for two reasons:
Most citizens are clueless about what the Court is doing. Therefore, politicians don’t fear any reaction from them.
Politicians either rejoice in the abuse of power, or don’t have the spine to NULLIFY decisions of the Court that should be nullified.
Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton, Casey, etc., should ALL be nullified by the States. So should the Gay Marriage decision. Let the Supreme Court send its army to enforce it.
He should have ignored the Fl. SC ruling and kept feeding her.
He should have quoted Andrew Jackson stating Marshal has made his ruling, let him enforce it.
Remember the SC has no power to enforce anything.
Don’t forget Dred Scott, which helped start a Civil War.
