A mock invasion of Sweden and Norway has been carried out by 33,000 Russian troops, a US security think tank has claimed.
Tens of thousands of soldiers rehearsed a military takeover of Swedish and Norwegian territory near the Baltic Sea in March, security expert Edward Lucas said in a report for the US-based Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).
The exercise also simulated the invasion of other areas including the Danish island of Bornholm, Finland's Swedish-speaking Åland islands, and northern Norway, according to the report, The Coming Storm.

But still, the question is, why should the United States save Sweden and Finnland from Russia? We have the NATO treaty with Norway and Denmark, but Sweden? Those guys have acted superior to us for years, even the years when they were helping the NAZIs. I say, let them look out for themselves. That is unless someone could show how it impacts the US.
The Russians might not have 33,000 politically reliable troops anymore. They used to have about 50,000, but lost a lot in the Ukraine. That has caused some difficulty recruiting & training enough to keep up with normal attrition, let alone combat casualties.
I wonder where is Russia’s profit in invading Sweden or Norway? Having in mind it is not easy task because of Russia has no borders with those countries and with contemporary missile technologies all ships in the Baltic sea have few chances to survive a bit longer than several minutes.
Without this European nation Russia cannot be empire? What Sweden has so special that Russia needs so badly?
Russia is currently invading Ukraine.
You must not have looked very hard. There are even videos of entire torture sessions. And Russkies have been infamous for their "websites" during the Ukraine conflict, usually getting pulled only after getting exposed on the media, because they're posing in photos inside Ukraine or else putting up pictures of gore and torture.
Norway borders Russia.
