The Right to be Free From Guns (BS alert)
Real Clear Politics ^ | June 25, 2015 | E.J. Dionne

My friend Guy Molyneux, a progressive pollster, laid out how it could happen. "We need to build a social movement devoted to the simple proposition that owning handguns makes us less safe, not more," he told me. "The evidence is overwhelming that having a gun in your home increases the risks of suicide, domestic violence and fatal accidents, and yet the number one reason given for gun purchases is 'personal safety.' We need a public health campaign on the dangers of gun ownership, similar to the successful efforts against smoking and drunk driving."

How interesting we both encountered very similar boating accidents.
Took all my guns out to go boating on a beautiful autumn day and they all accidentally fell overboard. Weird.

""We need to build a social movement..."

That'll get rid of that nasty ol' Constitution!

Classic Lib-think...

So if I can prove a link to bad outcomes, I can ban something?

That's a big argument for the War on Drugs.

I’m actually surprised at the number of suicides commited without guns. I think to myself, “why make it hurt?” like jumping off a building or cutting your wrists.

A Libertarian talk show host, Jim Vicevich, on WTIC radio Hartford, CT this morning, mentioned that b/c of the SCOTUS decision, it should follow that if there are no longer any *states’ rights*....then it should follow: that all lawful gun owners will carry in any state in the {former] Union; if states can’t ban gay marriages, then they can’t ban licensed gun owners to carry in their states. Hello NY, Cali, Massachusetts.

I like the sound of this. I hope this is eventually challenged. God help us all.

Carry on!
