Puts S.C.’s Confederate-flag flap in perspective.
It’s tough to top the historical amnesia that has let the Confederate flag fly over the South Carolina capitol for more than half a century. But the U.S. Army certainly can give Columbia’s banner a run for its money: it operates posts named for nine Confederate generals and a colonel, including the head of its army, the reputed Georgia chief of the Ku Klux Klan and the commander whose troops fired the first shots of the Civil War.
It shouldn’t be surprising. Both the Army and the South are tradition-bound entities that revere their past. Each of the posts was named for a Confederate officer long after the Civil War, including many in the first half of the 20th Century when the U.S. military was rushing to open training posts for both world wars. Army Colonel Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman, said Wednesday there is “no discussion” underway about renaming the posts.
The Army itself stood firm. “Every Army installation is named for a soldier who holds a place in our military history,” Brigadier General Malcolm Frost, the service’s top spokesman, said Wednesday. “Accordingly, these historic names represent individuals, not causes or ideologies. It should be noted that the naming occurred in the spirit of reconciliation, not division.”(continued)

Had the South won there’s no doubt slavery would have been done away with eventually. And the North would have come begging within a few years and the union would have reunited. They needed the agriculture the South provided. The only difference is the federal government’s eagle would have had it’s wings clipped and it wouldn’t have gained the power it has today.
I’ll get into the argument. They did not take up arms against the federal government. All the fighting took place in the south. It was federal troops who marched south with war in mind. The first shots were fired at the troops of another nation that was holding a fort that belonged to the Confederacy. And that is a fact.
By the way, any others who weren’t southern you’d like to see hang? And, will you vote for Hillary or Bernie?
Just a guess....when WTP get fed up and start fighting back. To wait for our congress critters is as productive as watching paint dry. Few in congress possess those global ‘things’ having given them to BHO to knock around on the golf course.

Is it not possible that those men - black and white alike, took up arms against the union because it had ventured so far from the original intent (a union of states, not a collection of states ruled by a powerful central government) that it was no longer recognizable as America?
While statistically “insignificant”, there were several thousand black soldiers in the CSA. Likewise, we seem to have forgotten that freed blacks owned black slaves in several northern states - not all that surprising, given the tribally-centered cultures from which they came and that blacks in Africa sold other blacks to slave traders as they do today...

Read an article many years ago that stated every statue on a Confederate monument in the South faces North. Over the years I have had occasion to see many such monuments, some in small rural towns others in large cities,and as the magazine article stated the statues all faced North.
It won’t end - the Confederate Flag and Leaders are not the true targets, but just another wedge for them to use to attack 1st/2nd/10th Amendments and Constitutional Freedoms. They want to continue to replace sanity and Freedom by Leftist Mob Rule vs. Constitutional edicts.
Now that this has been pointed out and made public, I’m sure the White House will remedy the issue quickly.

This summer, we will see PC based changes to appease those bully’s who riot, burn and loot.
We will be asked to erase symbols, certain speech “framed as hate” will be banned.
The Hate standard will be deployed to change society. Truth and facts will no longer matter, only the manufactured narrative will be permitted in public.

The reason why the attorney general at the time delayed and drug his feet in trying President Jeff Davis for treason is he felt the trial would have put secession itself on trial. He did not think he could win and losing that trial would have put the entire war in a new ill light and cause another constitutional crises Davis demanded a trial and never got one and was eventfully released.
That is one silver lining in this whole Alinsky manufactured narrative.
Because of a Buffalo radio guy, Bauerle (sp??) I took time to read up on the war for Southern Independence, and the creep Abe Lincoln.
The North had plenty of time to make war, over the slave issue.
Not until the Southern States revolted against Federal Central control, created their own Constitution, minted currency, separated from the Union, and began taking over Union forts in their territory, did the North Act.
The Confederate Constitution forbid importing Blacks from Africa.
Lincoln’s Emancipation declaration DID NOT free the Slaves from coast to coast. Lincoln freed Slaves from certain Counties within Southern States. If you were a Slave in the North, or outside of those designated areas, you were S-— out of luck.
Perhaps, we can finally cut through the victors Bull and learn the facts and truths on the ground preceding the fight against Tyranny
I knew this was coming. Its going to be a sad purge if someone or some group cannot stop this insanity. I wonder if many have resentment to what is going on and what the long term effects of this resentment will be?
