For the first time in years, Republican leaders feel they have the political capital to truly fight back against a small group of dissenters within their ranks. Senior members of GOP leadership say they are finally ready to impose the no-nonsense management style theyve long believed in, but resisted from fully instituting.
Congressional perks must be earned. Trips abroad are a privilege, not a right. And good luck getting legislation if you cross leadership.
Thats not it. Failing to pay member dues to the National Republican Congressional Committee could committee gavel.
Senior GOP leadership figures repeated the same line: the right-wing dissenters want all the perks, but none of the responsibility, of being in the majority.
When we are entrusted by our team with a position of responsibility, we have an obligation to live up to those responsibilities, Boehner told the Republican conference at a meeting Wednesday, according to a source in the room. We are in the majority. Part of being in the majority is advancing an agenda a conservative agenda. You may not agree with every part of the agenda, and when you dont, you can vote your conscience. But voting against rules is not a vote of conscience; it is a vote to hand the House floor over to Nancy Pelosi.

And I’m not sure ALL of the republicans aren’t rinos behind closed doors.
Gallop polls as well as Rasmussen said that Liberals were 20 and 22 percent with Conservatives at 40 and 44 respectively. Liberals are the minority not Conservatives.
Someone needs to stand in the House and offer $10,000 cash for information leading to what the democrats have on Boehner..
Looking right at Boehner when they SAY IT...
Cavuto just interviewed Chaffetz about firing Meadows.
Chaffetz clammed up and claimed it was a ‘personnel issue’.
Sorry, Elected Representatives are not Chaffetz and Boner’s ‘personnel’
Vote conservatives....I mean REAL conservatives!!!!!!
Down goes Chaffetz.
Down goes Chaffetz.
Down goes Chaffetz.
Down goes Chaffetz!
A spineless little two face alcoholic always ready for his next "crying jag".
The real question regarding Boehner is how many knee pads he wears out in a week servicing 0bama!
So to support the majority you have to vote with Boehner? Something’s really wrong with this picture.
Further proof that Republican are NOT conservative by default; and that Conservative should not feel obligated to the Republican party, by default.
I dont see any Conservative Agenda.
Boner’s webpage still touts the original line. It just shows how far he has strayed and why he needs to spend more time with his fam.
The Rules Committee COULD pass rules that conservatives could vote for in good conscious...
He could run the House with conservatives, but that would require conservative legislation...
He’s playing a losing hand, by choice.
And they wonder why I no longer contribute to them..........
“No, we dont need a Third Party you damned fool, what really need is an honest to goodness actual SECOND PARTY!!!”
LOL!.... I think you have a better chance of seeing Keebler elves riding around on top of Unicorns than the Republican turning back into a conservative party.
Just today the Republican party just lowered the standards by passing Obama-trade, and you are are talking about an honest to goodness Republican party???
Think when it comes to the Republican Party you appear to have the “battered wife syndrome”. You are in complete denial of what the Republicans have turned in to. The writing is CLEARLY on the wall. They are gone, finshed and kaput!
Boehner and McConnell have been A LOT more effective of getting the Obama legislation through than Pelosi and Reid. Oh but you some how think doing the same thing over and over again is going to some how MAGICALLY change?
It’s not going to happen until we have a REAL OPPOSITION PARTY. The Tea Party has to organize and $hit can the useless rat sell out Republican Establishment!
For the most part the Republicans are bought and owned by the DNC lock, stock and barrel.
We are worse off with Boehner than we were with Pelosi. We are worse off with McConnell than we were with Reid.
And I think we'd be worse off with the despicable Jeb Bushwoman than we would be with Hillary.
His kind will sell out anyone including their country for money and the power trip. I remember there were 2 chances to get rid of him yet the republicans voted for him to be House leader. He is a backstabber.
We are worse off with Boehner than we were with Pelosi. We are worse off with McConnell than we were with Reid.
And I think we'd be worse off with the despicable Jeb Bushwoman than we would be with Hillary.
Hear! Hear!
Well Said!
I completely understand!
I can't say I'll vote democrat....never that...
I'll just not vote...period!
Who is Hillary? We know her so well. She's ignorant, incompetent, and I am convinced simple-minded. She'll pursue her selfish interests. What will Jeb do? He's a womanish, self-righteous anti-conservative prig who wants to prove how much he knows better than conservatives, the middle class, traditionals. I contend we'd be better off dealing with the Devil we Know than the smug, smarmy, condescending Jeb.
That's why I wish we could put together a Republican Conservative Party, QUICK.
Someone needs to stand in the House and offer $10,000 cash for information leading to what the democrats have on Boehner..
I was just about to post the same sentiments.
Sessions of AL is reliably conservative, Vitter sometimes.
It’s not a good situation.
There are more in the House, Dave Brat needs more company, for sure.
