As a radically conservative defender of liberty and states rights, I say that there is no good biblical, historical, or strategic reason to defend a states flying of the Confederate battle flag today. It is rather a sign of utter hypocrisy, sentimentalism, and misguided zeal. Every Christian of every stripe ought to be calling for the removal of that profound distraction in SCand every other state-sponsored locationin the name of Christian integrity and the advance of true Christian values and culture.
I am quite cognizant of the appeal of heritage not hate, and I feel the power of it. It is too easy for liberals to exploit the crises and emotions related to them, and it is too easy to forget what was good about Southern values and to focus only on the bad.
In view of those much-lost and trampled values, I almost sympathize with the rhetoric of those who recognize that that flag is the Confederate battle flag (and not the national flag), and who therefore recognize that as long as the state flies that flag, it is essentially saying the war is not over, but were only experiencing the longest cease-fire in history. Almost.
Hypocrisy
But as long as the voters keep electing politicians to keep up that flag under such pretenses and for such reasons of heritage as states rights, honor, and freedom, they are engaging in what amounts to the biggest act of hypocrisy in history as well.
For starters, South Carolina takes in more Federal subsidies in comparison to taxes paid than any other state. Many studies confirm this status or something very close. According to one study, SC receives 5.38 times as much money as it pays in.

If Washington is just going to print a trillion dollars of imaginary money every year then I guess SC deserves its share as much as anyone else does. They will sink along with everyone else once the bottom falls out.
I suspect that our killer is queer but you may be certain that the press will die to the last man to keep us from learning about it.
Remoce that “distraction” and there will be another intolerable “distraction” that will draw the same opprobrium and enmity as the CSA flag. It is not a fight we can win. If we keep giving in to the removal of syymbols the only symbols permitted will be the symbols of Communism and Islam. The Cross is a hateful symbol to the Left, too, and will eventually come to the top as the other symbols are lopped off one by one with the eager and ignorant complicity of much of the Right.
Because they don’t know what it is....
All they see is the Gone with the Wind flag...and that was just “hurtful”. The ignorance is appalling as is the craven cowardice being shown by the likes of Nikki Haley and all the other dog beaten pubbies.

Is there a link or are these just your own personal thoughts on the matter?
“Gone With The Wind”?
Ban it.
“Birth Of A Nation”?
Ban it.
America’s history?
Ban it.
The nitwits on the” ban-wagon” remind me of a stampede of stupid cattle.
Symbolism over substance, touchy-feely solutions that have NO IMPACT on reality whatsoever.
I hope whoever posted this is not the author. If so, shame on you.
“The American flag will be next on the hit list, when this goes down.”
Banning and/or boycotts of the Confederate flag like this could be a gateway to banning the Stars and Stripes.
Why not rewrite all the history we do not like? There never was a civil war. There never was slavery. And on and on and on. That will make us all feel better. What a bunch of BS. Grow up people.
I do not care what they say it represents. I do think that it has quickly come to represent something else entirely due to the recent orchestrated attacks, and the knee jerk reactions to the attacks.
Take the stars and bars, the next to go will be old glory. The Kenyan flag or the hammer and sickle will be acceptable. We are going the way of South Africa and Rhodesia.
I think a white flag is more appropriate for “southern pride”
This flag has been flying at my house since the night of Nov. 6th 2012 when
the rule of law was voted out of existence in this country. Clearly it won't be
coming down any time soon. In a banana republic pirate law is the only real law.
Whirrrrrrrr......rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ! - (The sound of my great great grandfather spinning in his grave!) He fought as a “Rebel” at Shiloh & told my grandmother when she asked, “What a mess that was!” - Momma & Daddy used to take me to Shiloh battlefield when I was a kid. None of my folks kept slaves except some very far back in time in Georgia Indian Territory. People trying to beat it out of me just as wells to be whistling “Dixie”.
it's run by the guy that played cooter on the dukes of hazard.
Thanks..
As a Roman Catholic, I cannot imagine what makes Mr. McDurmon hallucinate that "Christian integrity" requires that the sacred Confederate Battle flag of Robert E. Lee, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, James Longstreet and many notable Christians of the 1860s be taken down. Perhap, Mr. McDurmon would not regard me as a Christian since I am a Roman Catholic. If so, tooooooo bad!
Mr. McDurmon, try this exercise: Bone up on some biography and compare and contrast the religious commitments and lives of Abraham Lincoln, and William Tecumseh Sherman with Lee, Longstreet and most of all, Stonewall Jackson. Until then, Mr. McDurmon, sit down STFU and stop impersonating a conservative in public.
