If U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry pulls off a nuclear deal with Iran, it will be a singular achievement in a long career in which the grand prize has eluded him.
His 2004 presidential election loss, lack of legislative monuments despite 28 years in the Senate, and failure, like many before, to bring peace to Israelis and Palestinians have contributed to a view that he struggles to seal major successes.

Some who watched Kerry up close describe a senator eager to take on complex, sometimes arcane issues and doggedly pursue them even when it became clear to others they were lost causes.
"There's a sense that he loves a mission that might lead to glory," said a person with knowledge of Kerry's work on an ill-fated "super committee" formed to find $1.5 trillion in government savings. "He's like a shark; he can't stop swimming."
The day after the committee collapsed, Kerry summoned some members to his office in search of a breakthrough. "Everybody but him knew it was a bridge too far," this person said.

In other words, just like Obama, Kerry is a guy who is more concerned about his own short-term reputation and personal glory, than about the long-term good of the country. Darn egotists! One thing I liked about Bush was his Christian humility. Most of the time, he genuinely wanted to do what he thought was best for the country, rather than worry about what the press would say about him. He loved soldiers for more than simply being props for photo-ops (like for Obama).

Monsieur Kerry will, no doubt, get the Nobel Prize
with some Heinz ketchup and a Purple Heart,
when the first Iranian nuclear bomb murders by vaporization
hundreds of thousands of innocents Israelis, Americans,
and then Europeans.

A nuke deal with Iran would confirm Kerry’s spot in Idiot of the Century for America.
To: DeweyCA
It will be "deemed" a success no matter the actual outcome or Iran's non-adherence to it afterwards.

Nice that someone named Arshad Mohammed approves. Although I suppose he deserves some credit for his little spat with Marie Harf.

A legacy hit in the same vein as Neville Chamberlain’s legacy hit in Munich.

Maybe there is a reason for that? The Iran deal is shaping up to be a disaster, just so Obama and Kerry can claim a “victory”.

What kind of legacy would it represent? Does he want to go down in history as the one who facilitated the second “Final Solution?” Does he want statues to him in Iran? He can forget that. Shariah and the Koran do not permit statues and places named for people.
