You’re correct; my people came to the USA as immigrants after the Civil War was over. My people never owned slaves - they came to this Nation to follow the “American Dream” because they were as poor as slaves in England, France, and Germany before they came here.

You are mistaken in your thinking that I’m uneducated about the truth: I am completely aware that the War Between the States WAS the War of Northern Aggression. Slavery was just an excuse.

Slavery, as an institution was already becoming economically unsustainable due to advances in mechanization. The true seeds of the war resided in taxation and political power. The NE States wanted to keep the fruits of political power for themselves and went to legths reminicient of King George III to do so. And, in large part, they continue to do so to this day.

No FRiend, I know all about the true causes of the Civil War.

What I AM saying is: The South LOST a military defeat. We just couldn’t triumph over the numbers and mechanization of the North. Period. The South lost two full generations of its men while the north lost a fraction. Hopefully, when the Second American Revolution inevitably occurs, we here in the south will remember the lessons from that defeat.

In the meantime, the reason “I don’t care” about the mementos of the Confederacy is that they ultimately mean nothing. They are not worth one ounce of strife over. The people (on both sides of the issue) would be better off to engage themselves more profitably. The race pimps will gain nothing in their battle to end “racism” by getting rid of the Battle Flag in public places, and the Southern Historians gain nothing in the fight to defend the status quo.

FRiend, we have bigger fish to fry. Keeping your eyes on the Battle Flag or the bust of Jeff Davis is keeping your eyes OFF the bigger and more important things the powers-that-be are trying to distract you from; like the growing tyrany of the professional political class and the dangers of enemies foreign and domestic.

“My people never owned slaves”

Neither did the vast majority of the Southerners that fought and died in Lincoln’s war.
