Is this bolder than what Haley did or not as bold? Davis may not hold the same cultural currency as a symbol of southern pride that the flag does, but Haley had less to lose in making her move than Bevin does. Shes the term-limited governor of South Carolina; hes the GOP nominee for governor in Kentucky. If theres a broader southern backlash coming to all of the criticism of Confederate iconography this past week, hell pay for it more than she will.

How wise they are to remove all reminders of what happens when Government goes to far. Who needs those!
The notoriously liberal Michael Medved - when asked whether he agrees that Confederate flags be taken down from southern graveyards responded: “Well, there aren’t many Confederate graveyards THANK FOR THE CALL, CALLER!”
They can’t get rid of white people, without getting rid of white people’s money!
Monkey on a chain. Jump, little monkey! Bow to your PC masters, lick their boots.
My God, how much I’d love to personally put a dagger into the skull of the entire GOP. Caving in to this, caving in to the homo-fascists in IN/AR, caving on amnesty, Obamacare, everything. The Republican Party merits nothing more than death.
All of those Civil War battlefields that are US National Parks fly the Stars and Bars. How can the government show a battle site without showing both sides?
If the southern states had any real leaders they would have left a long time ago and said to the US “Ready for round two?”
Our history follows us,DEAL WTH IT,you cant erase it.
Gesh liberalism is a mental disorder
It’s time we accepted that there are no republicans who are willing to fight for this country. It’s time to stop voting for them. Actually, it’s way past time.
You hit the nail on the head! This will be French Revolution, x 100 due to modern advanced killing technology in existence.
When will Mt. Rushmore be dynamited?
Sure they can. They control the narrative and can present anything anyway they want. We have always been at war with Eastasia.
They’ve already started a push to change the name of Lake Calhoun in Minnesota and I’m sure Calhoun county Michigan will be on the list as well.
Every southerner should quit the GOP. Every single one. The Republican party is the party of Yankee hatred of the south. Damn the party of Lincoln. Damn the putrid cowards.
I heard on the news companies that sell confederate flags every now and then are selling them like hotcakes now. I’ll be buying a Confederate decal the first chance I get. I hate bumper sticker type stuff but my truck will get a decal.
And let’s be sure to bulldoze the statues on Monument Ave. and the Confederate White House and Museum in Richmond. Just in case someone decides to be “offended.”
The republican party has returned to it’s roots. It was the party of hatred for the South back then.
What do you think that “big tent” is all about? When they say “Everybody’s welcome” they don’t mean conservatives.
“The purge of Southern heritage continues”
There will be no purge now any more than after the Civil War. Admitting defeat, surrender, in no way can change the heart felt ideals held by free men.
Politicians that mistakenly think that they are winning are only stoking fires that won’t be soon put out. I, myself, twenty years ago, never thought of the Confederate flag in reference to slavery. It stood for a people who were willing to walk head on into enemy gunfire to defend their freedom from a tyrannical government.
The people who are doing this just aren’t smart enough to know that those who do such things will come to justice, although it be long delayed. The South surrendered but never died, and it won’t now either. These acts just make the resolve stronger, the ties more enduring, and the reasons the South had for going to war in the first place a lot clearer.
Great idea!
Maybe they could be coaxed, and would leave voluntarily.
The the new CSA could expel all those damn yankees as illegal aliens.
