The Biblical response is to repent immediately - preferably in sackcloth and ashes!
What is noted here is systemic sin and failure.

Yes, but there is no excuse for Catholics to remain blind to their cancerous elephant and not provide the treatment he needs. Denial won’t heal your elephant as you focus on the parts that are still working.
