Voters may question just how faithful President Obama has been to the U.S. Constitution, but they continue to stand firm in their own belief about the document that has been the supreme law of the United States for 227 years

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 89% of U.S. Likely Voters want to continue using the Constitution as the fundamental law of the United States. Five percent (5%) are against continued use of the Constitution, while six percent (6%) aren’t sure.

That compares to 85% of American Adults who said in 2013 that the Constitution should remain the fundamental law of the nation. Two percent (2%) were opposed and 13% said they were not sure

Thank you for referencing that article george76. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

The problem is that many citizens probably don’t know why the Founding States wrote the Constitution in the first place. And as a consequence of not knowing the purpose of the Constitution, they don’t understand that the corrupt federal government has been been increasingly ignoring its constitutionally limited powers for the last 100+ years, arguably becoming a meaningless piece of paper within years after it was ratified, not surviving the Civil War in particular (insure domestic tranquility; yeah, right), the Constitution finally going up in flames when FDR was president.

So while people’s hearts are hopefully in the right place, their response to Rasmussen about the Constitution amounts to a PC, “flag, motherhood and apple pie” way to at least sound patriotic imo.
