We are NOT the rest of the world.
I don’t think there is enough real estate to house 293 million Americans in Israel, or Japan (who would not have us because we are not Japanese - go figure).
Rerun the numbers after taking out the Sons Of Barack.
Notice how the Liar-in-Chief is talking about “killing each other with guns,” not homicide rates per se. Because, after all, if you’re killed with a gun, you’re much deader than someone who is killed with a knife, a club, poison, or bare hands.
Ah, yes Israel. The place where a muslim wearing a suicide vest ran into a supermarket to kill as many innocent people as possible but was stopped by a mommy pushing her child in a shopping cart, when she left off of that and grabbed her semi auto and ventilated the religionist of peace...THAT Israel?
And, the problem they do have, they deal with quickly and decisively. They don't "give them room to destroy".
Yes. What a terrible case of gun violence that was, preventing bomb violence.
Interesting.
It is common for Israeli’s to get on the city bus with a nice fully automatic weapon strapped on their back. Open carry is common. Crime rate is virtually non existant.
One of the “Big Lies” promoted by the disarmists is the term “gun violence”. It is a propaganda term that simultaneously tells us that all violence is evil (which is false, violence can be used for good or evil) and that violence committed with guns is somehow more evil than other violence.
You have to compare murder rate to murder rate, not just one type of murder. If banning guns causes the murder rate to rise, banning guns is a bad idea.
Here is an essay comparing the European murder rate to the United States:

If you remove the democrat controlled strict gun control cities of Chicago, D.C., New York and Detroit from the statistics, the U.S. gun violence rate plummets below most of the rest of the world.
Gun violence 33 times worse then Israel? Israel is a smaller country with less population... apples to oranges comparsion, Barry!!
Oy, those late-night typos
s/b “dozens and dozens”
Let’s just fix the whole thing, shall we? Yes.
Says a guy who is surrounded by dozens and dozens of highly-trained people carrying ... guns.
Preview properly, THEN post, lol.
“Crime rate is virtually non existant.” I would not say that at all. Plenty of crime. But none committed in the presence of armed Israelis.

Israel has draconian laws regarding gun ownership. I'm sure he'd have mentioned that, but I suspect neither he nor his foreign affairs advisors are that well informed. Of course you still have to get around the fact that retired military and police, security guards, storekeepers, taxi drivers can own a handgun (one, only), and that active military carry their weapons, there are plenty of firearms around. IMO, that's a gangbanger dissuader.
You left out reservists (basically the entire working age Jewish population), people living in Judea and Samaria, and various kinds of store owners (e.g., jewelry).
Yes, still it would have been an effective argument for the President in some quarters. A firearm can be owned for legitimate purposes, or with extensive training. I think it’s nonsense, but he could have used it with supporters on the left. Of course the downside is that anyone with common sense might see a connection in a civilized country between an abundance of firearms in public and low murder rates.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it common for everyday Israelis to be armed?
I remember a picture of a teacher on a school field trip being posted here after the Sandy Hook shooting.
