I don't know why they even go there. You simply can't abolish the IRS.

It's how we fund our Army and government, etc etc..

You can get rid of things like Head Start, the EPA, Education Department....and a whole bunch or cr** and give the power back to the states instead of blackmailing them for funding...Obamacare is a good example....

So you think the current tax collecting apparatus and system are the only ways we can fund our government? REally?

So you think that it’s impossible to be against the EPA and the IRS at the same time?

Clearly you think that. You are oh for two.

IRS can’t be abolished? Ok then, Cruz, et al. should be saying they will abolish the current tax code and replace it with a simple, fair and/or flat tax. Streamlining the code along with modernizing/privatizing tax return processing would allow IRS headcount (~100K) and overhead to be drastically cut. Rename it the Taxpayer First Support Service!

i respect your opinion, but we fund everything by printing money. since we abandoned the gold standard and adopted fiat currency, the irs is nothing but a control and confiscatory arm of the federal government.
the tax code also enables corporations to pay for all business related expenses with 50 cent dollars.
i agree we’ll never see it go away, but it serves no useful purpose except enforcement of police state activities.

Exactly! Why, if it weren't for those hard-working colonial IRS agents, General Washington would never have won the war! Oh, wait...

It is how we fund Obummer's golf outings.

Army or dumBO, guess which I support?

Nonsense. We can surely eliminate the IRS as an entity which enforces the Marxist abomination known as the progressive income tax, because such Tyranny is not needed in this country.

Abolish the IRS and call whatever apparatus remains something else.

You can if the 16th is repealed.

We had all those things for more than a 100 years before there was an IRS.

We don’t need the IRS to fund anything. All revenue can in fact be raised thou sales taxes and tariffs. Income Taxes are simply a particularly intrusive way to take money from the people. They discourage savings by reducing income rather than discouraging unnecessary spending by increasing costs.

As for every other agency and program in the Federal government not enumerated in the Federal Constitution’s enumerated powers they should all be abolished.
