This is a classic example of evolution in action. A problem with a built in solution.

Several of us talk about the Fallout scenario - the Fallout video game. Just subtract nukes (maybe) and you see in that game exactly the world we are headed for.

Look back through history and the whole thing repeats. The Dark Ages were the last time it happened. Society hit a plateau and imploded on it’s own arrogance, sloth and sheepish stupidity. The result looked a lot like Fallout.

In all honesty, there is no fixing this. Sure we should fight it. But the population of the planet simply doesn’t want anything but MOAR! ov the same crap dooming them. There are not enough of us in any position to change that. The left succeeded in their goal of stupidizing and enslaving the population to their freebies. They destroyed critical and logical thought/reasoning.

So at some point, we collapse. Then most of us die. Then the strong survive. It’s just what ‘is’ is.

Well, the point of the Fallout video games was that the world’s countries both getting bankrupted and running out of oil resulted in the nuclear war in the first place. If anything, sufficient collapse in nations that possess nuclear weapons means a loss of reason against their use. Plus, Fallout is pretty heavily based on the Mad Max trilogy, where nuclear war occurred and the world was left in the Stone Age.

1. The Dark Ages were not dark. They witnessed an incredible growth in science, technology, art, and medicine. See Rodney Stark, "The Victory of Reason."

2. According to the World Bank, ALL world birth rates have trended down. Total pop will rise for a while, but will peak and trend down in next 20 years, even in undeveloped countries. (http://www.worldbank.org/depweb/beyond/beyondco/beg_03.pdf).

3) According to Julian Simon, "The Ultimate Resource," who disproved Ehrlich a famous bet, birth levels ALWAYS fall when people reach $450 per capita annual income (as of 1980s, so that's probably close to $700 today. For perspective, the average American colonist in -770 made $750 (1990s $$)

“The left succeeded in their goal of stupidizing and enslaving the population to their freebies. They destroyed critical and logical thought/reasoning.”

And it seems to me that it started in earnest right after WWII. When I look at our military leaders who carried us through that war successfully and I compare them to what passes for military leaders today, I am left with the notion that the dumbing down of the people through our “education system” definitely carried over to the military academies as well. All you have to do is look at men like Wesley Clark and this little prick Martin Dempsey to know that we’re in real trouble. When that bastard starts talking, I want to take a couple of rows of his ill-gotten campaign ribbons off his chest and shove them up his a$$. We will not see the problem you outline but I am saddened to think about our kids and their kids. Just hope they are part of the contingent that survives, although one wonders just what would be left in the ashes.
