Boehner Denies Conservative Amendments to Obamatrade Deal – But Allows Democrats to Amend the Bill
RightWingNews ^ | 18 Jun 15 | Greg Campbell

John Boehner is simply one of the worst Speakers this nation has ever endured. More hostile to conservatives than to far-left liberals, Boehner’s leadership jeopardizes our country more and more each day and his latest slight against conservative efforts to curtail Obama’s powergrabs is simply enraging:

Speaker John Boehner refused to allow conservative Republican amendments to the Obamatrade deal – But he allowed Democrats to amend the legislation. Unbelievable.

Last week, leadership galvanized Jordan and his allies by refusing to allow Republican amendments to TPA, even as they negotiated with Democrats in an attempt to rally enough votes to make up for the GOP defections. “So, the Democrats basically got to amend the process; we didn’t,” Jordan says. “That’s a frustration that members have, as well.”

Jordan had offered to deliver about two dozen votes for TPA, enough for Republicans to pass the bill without Democratic help, on three conditions: that GOP leadership include an amendment that sets up “checkpoints” at which the Republican conference could decide if the trade agreement proceeds; that they kill a union-friendly job-training program for workers affected by the free-trade deal, which Senate Republicans had backed in order to win Democratic votes; and that Boehner promise not to allow a vote on the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank. (Jordan wanted Boehner’s word on Ex-Im because Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had promised to allow a vote on the bank’s reauthorization in order to get Democrats to drop their filibuster of the trade package.)

In order to avoid having to send the bill back to the Senate, GOP leadership rebuffed all of Jordan’s demands. “They told us to pound sand, so that’s why we did what we did,” says one Freedom Caucus member who joined the procedural revolt.

There is a war on conservatism and make no mistake: this is a war lead by both Democrats and so-called “Republicans.”

How is that “lesser evil” working out

I imagine all those Freeper posters cashed their checks from Priebus and used the money to buy themselves dinner at Red Lobster. They're happy.

what a disappointment this congress is

Last time, they voted for Boehner...they didn't know he'd be this awful. This time, they have no excuse.

I don't care if the dems get control of the HOR and US Senate. It's even worse now that pubs have control.

Let the dems have the whole mess. At least they listen to their constituents. Heck, let them figure it out with a President Trump.

This is what voting gets you.

Boehner is a symptom: he would have never gotten this passed if the overwhelming majority of the members of the gop faction hadn’t gone along. This is what they are and what they stand for.

Pretty well actually. I think voting is a waste of time at best, and the kleptocrats are doing their damnedest to prove me right.

WHy on earth there can't be a vote of no confidence on Boehner is beyond me. Oh! That's right. They allow only two flap jaws named Cruz & Sessions to freak out the people who care and love what this country used to be.

Everybody else in congress is bought and paid for and marching along with Obama, Boehner, McConnell and Ryan.

They have won. We have lost the future. There is no money in fighting for the middle class because they are stealing everything from the middle class while we are simply voiceless.

'No destruction of a class of free people without representation' has no ring to it and will never be a slogan. It is a reality. A very sad reality that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall perish from the earth.

189 other House Republicans went along with Boehner. 158 Democrats ignored what Obama wanted and voted no. Each member of Congress is responsible for his/her own vote.

I’m actually pretty optimistic about the future of our people and our country. Not because of politics of course; that’s just a gaping black hole of villainy and despair.

Our people are generally wise, hard working, and good hearted. There will come a time, and I think it’s coming sooner rather than later, when enough people decide that they’ve had enough and decide to do something effective. It won’t be through elections: that’s three card monte. It will come when enough people decide that the best way to be free is to be free, and act accordingly.

It would take every Senate Republican, including the RINOs plus 13 Democrat Senators to remove him from Congress via an impeachment trial. You need 67 votes in the Senate.
Remember, only 50 out of 246 Republicans voted against him today.

Both Bohner and McConnell are solid arguments for term limits.

From Boehner’s says on his campaign donation website,

“A lifelong resident of southwest Ohio, John Boehner has never forgotten where he came from or the people he was elected to serve. Since day one, John has remained focused on his mission: leading the fight for a smaller, more accountable and less costly government.”

LoL.

I no longer blame Boehner....

I blame ALL the republicans who re-elected him as speaker.

They KNEW this about him... but didn’t have the gonads to replace him.

How many times do they need to believe a lie before they become the liar?
