Police are searching for the suspect, who is described as a white male, 21 years old, slender/small build, grey sweat shirt, blue jeans and clean shaven. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

It’s simply UNCANNY how they knew his age even before they knew his identity.
Odds are they had the plate number from the car and knew who they were looking for.
Or they had a clear face image from inside the church, and facial recognition ID-ed him from one of his mug shots. FBI was working the case from early on, and they have this capability.
Authorities never release all the info they have, just enough to point in the right direction.
It’s possible that he mentioned something about his age to the parishioner he ranted at and left alive “to tell about what happened.”
It’s also possible that they had the id, perhaps from his vehicle registration or other information that might have been captured by the cameras, before they publicly announced his name. People have frequently been misidentified in the initial press releases, and I think they probably wanted to avoid that.
