trump is politically what ever will make him money. the guy is smart he gets others to risk there money in high risk real-estate ventures when those deals make money he makes money when the deals loose money his business partners loose money and he doesn’t make money or he makes less money. I just don’t trust individuals like him because of how they run there business. the one good thing I can say is at least he is not taking advantage of the poor with his one sided business deals instead it is individuals that are wealthy and should no better then to get into business deals with him.
For better or worse, I dont think he plans no being shut up quickly
“The sad thing is, what he addressed are real issues. If he hadnt addressed those issues, I wonder if he would have been the focus of so much animosity.”
No, he would not be. The Donald clearly is some kind of a threat to the Establishment crowd. They don’t like his straight talk. They’re afraid he would actually make things happen.
So they mock him. And discuss his hair. Or past dealings with politicians. Or that he pointed out that he was rich. Anything to avoid the real issues that need to be taken care of now, or it will be too late.
If the Establishment succeeds in having Trump’s presidential run die without having acknowledged and debated the real issues of our time, then we all lose. Does anyone think that their owm guy will escape the Establishment’s wrath when they become a threat to Jeb’s political aspirations? Don’t forget the GOP’s anointed one is Jeb. One by one each one of them will get cut off at the knees.
This is it, there is no reversing our downward spiral if we don’t take meaningful action now. Whether it’s Trump and his people, or Cruz and his people, or Walker and his people - a team will need to be assembled to turn these United States around.
Gosh, a businessman from NY gave contributions to his state’s Senator. I’m shocked.
He asked a very good question on Hannity today. He pointed out that deleting emails after she had received a subpoena is a crime, why aren’t the Republicans in congress even talking, let alone doing anything about it?
His multi level marketing schemes probably a aren’t hurting people who are rich.
Trump believes only the GOP has enough idiots ready to take him seriously and maybe he’s right.
I'm at a loss why Perry would even talk of running again. He, Santorum, and others are truly wasting their time.
“........making what he said just a bunch of empty rhetoric.”..........
Sure sounds like a politician to me.
“He could not , or would not , describe Hillary as dishonest during his interview with Sean Hannity today .”
On Hannity last night, he said she should probably go to jail.
Remember, this is Politico.
Donald Trump talks a good game. I mostly agree with him on a lot of issues he speaks about. However, he is almost 70 years old. I don’t care about his age, but where has he been all of these years? Was he in the conservative trenches in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s? Was he standing alongside the conservative heavyweights like Bill Buckley and Rush Limbaugh? Has he been contributing to all of these conservative causes for years like the Koch brothers?
His candidacy is a mile wide and an inch deep and if I were a candidate, I would ask him these same questions. Where have you been all these years?
To the media and the Left, and sadly even some on the right, I believe you are correct.
I’m honestly not exactly clear on your emphasis here.
Perceptions are not always reality. If his comments are spot on, or at least address real problems, it can’t be rhetoric unless he’s just flat lying about thinking these are problems.
At least that’s my take on it.
Thanks...
And that may be a good perspective. I’ve always thought him a bit (putting it mildly) of an ass. I have this theory and it goes something like this.
Even if Bill Clinton hits on a truth, as if, it is still truth. Trump deserves no less in that regard.
Focusing on him being an ass doesn’t do our cause much service, if we totally dismiss the words that are decades overdue.
dow t
= :^)
Tell you what Nick. I hope you’re wrong.
Notice I’m not putting my own money on it...
I haven’t seen a problem solved yet that wasn’t identified and articulated to the public first.
Good point...
That’s my take too Paulie. Thanks for the comments.
