For being a true conservative, Donald Trump sure has funneled a lot of cash to prominent liberal Democrats over the years.

The billionaire media mogul has flirted with presidential politics before. But this time, he’s finally going for it. Yesterday, Donald Trump officially announced that he’s running for president.

During a press conference at Trump Tower, the Donald declared that the nation needs someone to “take the brand of the United States and make it great again.” Mr. Trump knows something about rebranding. He’s done a lot of it over the past few years.

On the conservative speaking circuit, Trump has stumped for the support of the base. Railing against the Obama administration, he has styled himself as a foreign policy hawk with social conservative sensibilities.

But a closer look at his history reveals that Trump has been more politically promiscuous than his recent rhetoric would suggest.

Here are 23 Democrats who have handsomely profited from Trump dollars over the last two decades.

1. Hillary Clinton

Trump wanted New York to hire Clinton when she was running for The senate. He personally donated $15,500 to his potential Democratic presidential rival.

2. Charlie Rangel

Censured by the House Ethics Committee, Harlem’s Charles Rangel still secured $20,350 over the years from Donald Trump.

3. Chuck Schumer

New York’s Charles Schumer raked in $9,900 in Trump cash.

4. Harry Reid

For several years, Trump has supported the senator most responsible for the passage of ObamaCare. Harry Reid has collected $9,400 from Trump.

5. John Kerry

Until Senator Kerry launched his campaign for president in 2004, Trump regularly bankrolled the Massachusetts senator’s campaigns to the tune of$5,500.

6. Anthony Weiner

Before the Twitter selfies, Trump pumped up Weiner’s political ambitions with $4,300 in campaign contributions.

Just reporting what I heard him say in an interview. In any case it doesn’t mean he loves her policies. In fact I’ve heard him say he “loves” or “likes” lots of people, right before he rips into them. I didn’t hear anything in his speech yesterday that I disagreed with, and it’s a breath of fresh air to hear someone who is an unabashed American nationalist for a change. I intend to keep an open mind about him.

The funniest thing about the Trump catamites is how they projected their hero-worship onto their critics. Several of them kept on saying that I wouldn't give Trump a chance because I'm a "cult follower" of a "political messiah," even though I repeatedly stated that I haven't decided who to support in the GOP primaries, and that even the best candidates in the lot have plenty to criticize. Only their loud-mouthed guru is infallible, apparently.

And we wonder why we keep going further and further left every 2 years. Because of people like this claiming to be ‘conservative’ when their choices and statements prove conclusively they are not.

The common denominator there is that talk is cheap, and only fools fall for cheap talk. Donald Trump says some things that sound good - border fence, etc. Mitt Romney said some great things on the campaign trail too - e.g. how we've allowed the social safety net to become a hammock, how we can deny social services to illegals so they would "self-deport." Did Mitt mean a word of it? No, because his own statements and actions a few years earlier contradicted the born-again conservatism on the campaign trail. The same is true with Trump and other phony blowhards.

Politicians say what they say because it is what they think we think is the most important things for them to talk about.

However, it is talk, first and foremost, 'cause they have to convince the most people to vote for them.

Gone are the days where the candidate proclaims their beliefs, and exemplifies them in the daily grind, with history of same, hoping to attract voters to their philosophy, and not pose behind what they think is the voter's.

Frankly, with the ones we built the politicians were greasing our palms. They wanted the business and sales taxes. Built one in Arlington, TX on old city property between Six Flags and the old Texas Rangers stadium. They practically gave it away.

The place is still there and it’s still a Sheraton.

But then again that was in 1984 and the economy hadn’t started really churning under Reagan just yet but was ready to blow.

One in Coronado Bay in San Diego did have to jump through alot of city hoops to get built though. And I was only sent once the building started and wasn’t involved in the greasing and financing.
