Why can’t a woman who won an academy award and despite her lack of a decent singing voice but can still put over a song, not be happy with that? Why does she so want to be a political pundit?

I can see that. Sonny's personality comes through as warm and friendly, while Cher appears as a self-centered stone cold Bitch.
One of my Favorite stories about Sonny is when he was a congressman and someone asked him what he thought about "Illegal Aliens".
