As contractors, my company was told the only persons affected by this are current Government Civilians and Military. But I don’t think they can truthfully say this, myself. I don’t think they have a clue about how many times and what was accessed and taken.
Other articles have stated “back to 1985” which even then is ludicrous. I went through a Secret and Top Secret before 1985 and I’d bet you a dinner for two at Ruth’s Chris that there is a Chinese computer with all my information in it.
Gaffer, I don’t believe that at all. I’m a current Fed and former contractor and I’d almost guarantee that all of our info has been compromised...again.
They got the security clearance applications, so if you applied or have a security clearance, they got you.
First I heard of it and I'm retired military and civilian - got my fingers crossed and my jaws clenched....the last time there was a 'leak" all they did was offer to pay any fees for a credit check so we could see if anyone had compromised us and to put some "checks" on our credit.
