Former Texas Gov. Rick Perrys officially kicked off his second bid for the White House two weeks ago at an airplane hangar in Addison. On Monday, as fellow Republican Jeb Bush joined the dozen-plus candidates in the field, Perry appeared on The Mark Davis Show on KSKY-AM (660) to talk about the campaign and the ever-growing chorus of contenders.
Here are some excerpts from that interview, as conducted and condensed by Mark Davis:
So whats been happening since the Addison rollout?
It was an extremely well-put-together rollout. Its always fun to stand in front of an old C-130 Hercules, so we were able to round one up, and remind people that freedoms not free. On the stage were a lot of people who paid an extraordinary price Taya Kyle, and Marcus and Morgan Luttrell and others ... just a great backdrop to talk about this country we live in. Its wonderful, its extraordinary, but it costs a great deal to keep those freedoms. We went from there to Iowa, on Saturday we did a motorcycle rally ... ended up in New Hampshire, then into South Carolina, then back into Texas for Wednesday and Thursday of this last week. So, headed off to do a big round in Texas the next four or five days. A lot of great crowds, a lot of excitement out there. Im blessed, happy, healthy and prepared.
Every Republican will be out there suggesting he will be a better leader for the military. You focus a lot on your actual service.
Obviously, the people who are in office now or who are running for office on the other side, you have to look at this as a third term for Barack Obama. With Hillary Clinton, theres no way around that. She owns the foreign policy debacle that came

O Dawg...I will find it for you. During the last debates, he said that we were uncompassionate...he got hammered for it.
Ya mean just like 2 term Bush with a Cheney appointing his cabinet and telling him what to do? Nah. This is no climate for a 'leader' who leads us up the creek. There is no substitute for brains.
Trump is a leader. He has built a fortune on solid leadership principles and he knows how to formulate administrative policy and how to meet goals and objectives. He also effectively uses strategy and tactics. He knows how to negotiate and he hires people who are motivated and qualified.
So you would agree that those names I mentioned (all good business minds) would make good presidents? Because that seems to be the only/main criteria on which you are basing your assessment on Trump.
btw...I saw his announcement. The man should spend some of his billions and hire a speech writer. It was a joke.
You mentioned a few real whack jobs. Buffet has taken a hard left since 1970. Your idea of a real businessman is not mine.

Out of his 31 donations 21 of them went to very liberal Democrats or Democratic Committees, 7 went to Republicans, 2 went to Independents (both of those to Charlie Crist).
I’ve already been sent the link. I can overlook the debate remark, but, I think he is pretty much over for what he said during that interview. That can not be overlooked.
Hero? He is not my hero. The heroes I knew died for this country.
What interview, Odawg? I missed it, sorry.
See post #38 for link.
I have memory lapses everyday, what did I come to the utility room for? etc. but I still remember that Rick Perry has hired the two nephews of Haley Barbour, Henry and Austin that engaged in, at best, unethical practices in the Republican Senatorial primary runoff in 2014. I have no use for either of them and anyone who hires them for a political campaign becomes ethically suspect.
Liars, slanderers, or someone who just looks for a specific point to reflect their bias come up with crap like 26K or the partial truth you posted about donations by Trump. An objective person would search political contributions since 2012 or whatever date? Here is the truth, not; your bias.

What an F'n moron.
I do not converse with those who provide half-ass INFO like your Trump political donations BS. The end.
Have a nice day.
