The primaries and caucuses are going to be a bloodbath. It takes so much money to mount a national campaign in the 21st century, THAT will be the real deciding factor in who eventually gets the nomination.
Obama’s campaign finance reports prepared for the Federal Election Commission showed $744,985,625 raised for the 2008 campaign and $715,677,692 raised for 2012.
That’s alot of dough.

Some have predicted that the 2016 election will have cost $2 Billion, considering all candidates and parties.

No wonder wannabes have to start the day after the previous presidential election.
