DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) Hillary Rodham Clinton says much of the nation's political debate lacks the compassion for the poor she learned in Sunday school.
At a rally in Iowa, the Democratic presidential hopeful portrayed herself as a champion for struggling Americans, in contrast to the alleged "mean spiritedness" of others.
Without naming names, Clinton asked, "Did they not go and hear the same lessons I did in Sunday school? Did they not sing the same hymns?" She said those who lack compassion make her wonder, "Did they never hear, 'there but for the grace of God go I?'"

Charity that is coerced through the government is not true charity.
To me that sounds like a shot at Martin O’Malley for being Catholic and Bernie Sanders for being Jewish.
Thanks for the post/links in a thread of good posts.

You know they don’t care two shakes about “Christian compassion”. They’re just trying to guilt trip people with better character than themselves into falling for their schemes to advance their power agenda.
I’d love to know how often this daughter of Belial goes to Sunday school class now.
In discussions where I know libs are listening or reading,
I make sure to point out that their “compassion” is nothing more than advocating theft,
and all their “caring” about the earth does not impute any righteousness to them whatsoever.
Bump.
I think it was during one of the debates she was asked what her favorite Bible verse was - she couldn’t quote Book, Chapter, Verse but I think she said the one that any 2 year old would remember - “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you” except she said “The Golden Rule”. That’s probably as close as she could come. It came off as “Oh! Crap! Now what do I do? This is the only one I know so I’ll throw it out there and see how it flies.”
Here it is and I remembered right.. Not over the hill yet and these people haven’t driven me crazy (or to drink) yet either!

“”Mrs. Clinton referred to her favorite verse as the Golden Rule, which is not listed as such in the Bible. However, Luke 6:31 offers the precise message to which she was referring: Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
Notice not one of them could quote Book, Chapter or Verse...
She went to Sunday School? Just a normal person like the rest of us, right? How come no one from early years remembers or mentions either her or obozo? They are so transparent, they were invisible? This makes my head ache!
Surprising, because even the founder of her faith and ideology is recorded as quoting scripture.
