Four Weeks Later: Waco Police Narrative Unravels
Breitbart Texas ^ | Lee Stranahan

Posted on 06/14/2015 4:18:39 PM PDT by House Atreides

"Four weeks after the deadly May 17th shooting incident outside a Waco Twin Peaks restaurant, more details have come out concerning the incident, but significant questions still remain about the actions taken by law enforcement and the police’s account of what transpired.

Although the national mainstream media has largely moved on from the Waco story, if critics of the police are correct, the incident represents an unprecedented civil rights violation and media cover-up campaign by the Waco authorities....

...In a statement on Friday, the police said that of 16 officers that were in the parking lot, only three fired a total of 12 shots. However, the statement still didn’t clarify how many of the bikers were killed by police. Authorities say they have not recieved final autopsy results that would clarify ballistics...."

I hear you. So...those three fired a total of 36 shots (12 for each of the three). How many shots did the other 13 officers (the ones who did not fire exactly 12 shots) take?

Good Lord. The Waco PD stated that their officers fired a total of 12 shots. Not 12 shots each. They also stated that no other LEOs fired.

It's fine to accuse them of lying if you're into conspiracies but their statements were pretty unambiguous.

This is about a lot more than liking or not liking bikers.

It depends upon what the meaning of “is” is. :^)

Very good catch! {^) Open to literal grammatical interpretation!

Somewhat comparable to "Let's eat grandma" versus "Let's eat, grandma."

I wonder if any assistants to the coroner will accidentally die of poisoning just before the autopsies are released.

Lighten up, Francis. Reread my post and see the smiley face at the end. Don’t you understand that it was a joke about the need for folks to parse statements from the authorities?

Fair enough, but in this case there isn't much to parse. I was impressed by how unambiguous they were.

“This is about a lot more than liking or not liking bikers.”

True.
And I have been following this issue closely.

My question to you would be why you posted that comment to me, as opposed to any other commenters on this thread?

Are you trying to shush me?

I don’t give a damn about bikers...

My goodness, then you don't give a damn about a lot of people I know and love and probably a lot that you know and love. Your cardiologist may be a biker.

Harley riders who ride independently or in clubs, any background, any age, are uniquely and quintessentially American, and have been for at least 70 years.

Harley riding is an American tradition and a right of freedom, it means something, it is a nomad tradition of American cowboys riding steel horses, sometimes in fellowship of clubs, sometimes alone, sometimes constantly, most of the time on weekends or when able --

That a percentage of them are bad-boy outlaws riding in fellowship, is true and catching them is the work of honest, competent cops.

Ozzymandus, these friggin' cops were so lame that even though the murderous thug active criminals wear signs on their backs, like the flashing neon arrows and signs to "Gangster Hideout" in old Bugs Bunny cartoons -- the cops managed to net only one third with criminal records, has got to seriously peg the BS meter.

It says that Texas cops are the most inept idiots in the nation (which I expect is PURE fiction, I have more respect for them than that) ...

... or it says that this was something a lot different than what's being presented.

No particular reason. Just seemed like a good time and place.

Are you trying to shush me?

There are 8 or 10 people ahead of you for me to use my shush powers on. LOL!

Where did you see that Texas rangers were there? Can you recall? I haven’t come across reference to them anywhere, only ATF and a sniff of FBI, along with Waco locals. I must have missed it, but ... if you remember (though I’d understand if you didn’t) I’d like to know. Thanks!

Wasnt it in the original police report that took forever to be released? I will look around a bit.

I may need to revise my guess. This report says only bikers were killed, no law enforcement or anyone else were injured.

I don't know the exact quote in the news article, but the original post said "16 officers that were in the parking lot, only three fired a total of 12 shots." That could most certainly could mean that only three fired a total of 12 shots apiece. It isn't specified, at least in that grammatical sentence. It is presumed, but not specified.

So it may have sounded pretty unambiguous, but ... the MSM is nothing but disingenuous, so I wouldn't be surprised if a careful reading failed to disclose it, though I haven't done so myself, just musing. :^)

Hope you don’t mind me jumping in here, but I seem to remember Rangers mentioned somewhere as coming into the story later, well after the shootup:

http://blog.chron.com/narcoconfidential/2015/06/waco-police-chief-says-officers-fired-a-dozen-shots/#33632101=0

The number of officers initially assigned to the Twin Peaks event on 5-17-15 are as follows:
There were 16 uniformed Waco Police Department Officers to include 5 Supervisors (3 Sergeants, 1 Commander and an Assistant Chief). Included in that number was a Tactical Element (SWAT Officers) assigned and present. .... There were 6 marked Waco Police units and 4 unmarked Waco Police vehicles. This does not include DPS vehicles. There were also Texas Department of Public Safety Officers assigned to the event as well.

I’m pretty sure that if there were Rangers present it would have been mentioned to provide a bit more credibility to the police operation. There’s a lot of respect here for the Texas Rangers.

Also, I think an ex-Ranger was hired by one of the lawyers involved to investigate.
