"Hispanic" can include:

(1) Pure Europeans from Spain.

(2) Spanish-speaking mestizos from Mexico.

(3) Pure South American Indians who speak tribal language and do not know Spanish at all.

(4) Portuguese-speaking Brazilians who can range from pure white to pure black.

And everything in between. It is a meaningless term.

Actually I think that Portuguese heritage people are not "Hispanic" according to the official rules for racially dividing Americans. So Brazilians aren't Hispanic.

Blondes from Spain or Uruguay, however, yes they're Hispanic.
