Weren’t Blacks whining that their children couldn’t learn from White teachers because they couldn’t relate to them? Now they have Black teachers. They should be doing great, because everyone knows that skin color trumps brains.

I seem to also remember a story about Bill Clinton when he was Gov of Arkansas and he had promised to fire incompetent teachers (as part of improving education in Arkansas). When he got the report back on the most incompetent teachers, it was mostly black. He knew he couldn't fire all those black teachers, so they just fired a certain percentage (after taking a poll to see what percentage the populace would accept), and that was how he dealt with it. A lot of the incompetent teachers remained; but, something was done by the politician in charge, so everything was okay.
Was HS junior when integration in south meant trading teachers from ‘across the tracks’ to our little school. As a English major, was ‘funny’ to be ‘taught’ by a teacher that said ‘get out yer pencers an peper’.
needless to say, it was a wasted year in the home language... and that was a long time ago.
