The House this morning takes up the bill to authorize Obama to negotiate a Trans-Pacific trade deal. Despite the GOP leadership's support, conservatives may well defeat it: they fell by one vote short last night, on a procedural vote on the rule, that would have killed it. Call your congresscritters to vote NO, and post comments and links here if you wish
>54 yes... 59 no.... 11 minutes to go
When you do this could you also display the breakdown? Thanks.
I will. 7 minutes left. When finished I’ll give all of the results by party etc... glad too.
60-y 68-n 7 min. left
There are currently 21 yes Democrat votes; Boehner will only need a few of the Republican holdouts to flip now.
I love the classical music C-SPAN plays during the vote. No matter how tense it is on the House floor (and it must be very tense) we hear very calming classical music.
Could be wrong but more Dems voting for TAA vs yesterday rule vote?
“Matt Fuller @MEPFuller
This vote, thus far, doesn’t even seem that high-pressured. It’s almost like both sides know it’s going to go down now.”
92- y 127-n
124 pubes holding back / 91 dems
Can’t stand to watch. Thanks for updates.
TAA is purely a sop for the unions. I would be shocked if it’s not overwhelmingly approved by the Dems.
Democrats will come to Boner’s rescue. This is a fait accompli. It’s just a matter of how many Demoncrats Boner needs, and 0bama will deliver them.
The whole charade is to force as many RINOs to take bad votes as possible, then shore up those bad votes with just enough Dems. Dems rank and file hate this vote, but 0bama loves the outcome:
All Power to 0bama.
Seems like it. 29 yes Democrat votes now.
Ryan said their would probably be 50 Republican NO votes but I already see 79 in the NAY column.
Got it! Thank you..
Pubs will be blamed for any ill side effects of this. Same old, same old :-/
and the REPUBLICANS will DESERVE the blame for bailing Obama out.
FOR SHAME!
“TAA is purely a sop for the unions. I would be shocked if its not overwhelmingly approved by the Dems.”
Nancy P and others are voting NO because they can sink TPA by sinking TAA.
If it’s going to pass now, it’s going to have to be on the Rs to do it. I don’t think it will.
Wisdom prevailing?
