Jeff Sessions Issues Final 'Critical Alert': Obamatrade Just Like Amnesty, Obamacare
Breitbart ^ | 11 Jun 2015 | MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 06/11/2015 5:30:41 PM PDT by xzins

Sessions’ final “critical alert,” one of several he’s issued throughout the Obamatrade process, shows House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)60% has been engaged in deception as he attempts to guide Obamatrade’s passage through the House.

“Promoters of fast-track executive authority have relied on semantic obfuscation in an effort to deny the obvious: the President’s top priority is obtaining fast-track authority because he knows it will expand his powers and allow him to cement his legacy through the formation of a new political and economic union,” Sessions said.

The authority granted in “Trade Promotion Authority” is authority transferred from Congress to the Executive and, ultimately, to international bureaucrats. The entire purpose of fast-track is for Congress to surrender its power to the Executive for six years. Legislative concessions include: control over the content of legislation, the power to fully consider that legislation on the floor, the power to keep debate open until Senate cloture is invoked, and the constitutional requirement that treaties receive a two-thirds vote. Legislation cannot even be amended.

“By contrast, without fast-track, Congress retains all of its legislative powers, individual members retain all of their procedural tools, and every single line, jot, and tittle of trade text is publicly available before any congressional action is taken,” Sessions said.

Another obfuscation is the suggestion that TPP doesn’t yet exist. To the contrary, it has been under negotiation for six years and lawmakers can enter a closed-door, walled-off chamber to review it.

“The so-called negotiating objectives in the fast-track bill are merely for show,” Nucor Steel chairman emeritus Dan DiMicco says, according to Sessions. “The President can and does sign the agreement before Congress views or votes on it.”

Any time that legislation is kept from the eyes of the people it simply can't be for the betterment of the populace. Even Obamacare was there to be read.

Keeping this from public view is reprehensible, repugnant and anathema to open governance.

http://therightscoop.com/ted-cruz-explains-why-he-supported-fast-track-trade-bill-tpa/

Education is the first step.

There are two sides to opposing this bill.

The first one (and the one that REAL conservatives will oppose it on) is the secrecy of the deal. Cruz addresses this point and opposes the secrecy.

But those of you siding with the Union Thugs opposing this because of “free trade” need to go back to Economics class. Reagan was for Free Trade and Free Trade creates jobs and opportunities for American workers and companies abroad. Some want to blame “free trade” as if the burdensome Corporations Taxes and other Regulations that drive companies out of the US doesn’t have any roll. Take Free Trade and add a President willing to cut taxes and burdensome regulations and you have Reagan of the 80’s.

It’s no surprise Walker supports TPA either (I haven’t heard a stance from him on TPP) given his history of taking on the Union Thugs in WI since they are vehemently opposed to it.

Add an amendment to eliminate the secrecy in TPP (Oh wait, Cruz tried to do that and got shot down). Well, let the House add it and force a vote from Senate on it.

Watching Cruz answer this, I see nothing that leads me to believe he is a traitor or someone I couldn’t trust. I see a logical and reasoned answer that was without spin to the questions ask.

You got a problem with Cruz? Ask him your loaded questions at the next event he’s at. I’m sure he’ll answer you because he doesn’t back down, provided you’re respectful. Now try doing that with Clinton or one of the other candidates, you’ll be hauled out in cuffs, while Ted will buy you a beer.

>> It’s free for the partners and very expensive for the USA.<<

Even NAFTA had provisions for retraining displaced American workers, but the program to aid retraining workers NEVER happened.

How many freakin jobs do we sacrifice for the sake of “free trade”?

Just read a report that big shot silicon valley execs are fighting to get this thing passed. Does that not send up red flags?

I work for a very large fortune 500 corporation. Over the last decade, they've laid off thousands of Americans and have backfilled positions with H1B’s from India.

It's freakin heartbreaking. Tawkin to a guy this morning, his last day is tomorrow. Twenty one years at the company. His manager made the comment...don't be surprised if you see a posting for your position. The guy is worried sick. I made the comment, “look like you've lost some weight”, he told me he’z lost ten pounds this week.

I remember when our government attempted to protect American industry. Now, as they walk around capital hill with money from corporations bulging from their pockets, they pat themselves on the back for a job well done.

Traitor b@st@rds.

I wish people would stop being so critical of Cruz and Walker.....both are very good men and this is an election run where lots of wrong information is being heaped in all sorts of directions.

I know what Cruz has said before TPP and TPA was a hot issue so I will bank on the actions and statements he has made before all the hype.

Sessions isn’t running for office BTW. But he does support a candidate.

He always has - for decades now.

Wish he would be President Sessions.

How many jobs do we sacrifice???

That ball has been already determined and in play worldwide...since Nafta and all the other agreements made we, for the most part, aren't aware of.

Of course Silicon Valley wants it to go through.....they're having difficulty getting US students and Citizens here that can compete with the educational and work ethics of those overseas...they well know the difference.

I've talked with Recruiters and others from those 500 Companies and let me tell you they all say they wish Americans could sit in their chairs and observe the mindsets and work ethics of the US people compared with those who come here from overseas. And they all say it's difficult to say that, because Americans once had great work ethics.

BS

It doesn’t stop Congress from voting up or down.

Scenario 1:

POTUS negotiates a Trade Deal
Deal goes to Congress, made public for 60 days
Congress votes up or down as is. If there’s enough garbage in it, vote it down, otherwise they pass it.

Congressional authority is not taken away and Cruz isn’t lying.

Stop falling for the Warren/Schumer tactics of falsifying arguments with no facts to back it up.

..”the fast track bill stops all changes and all debate”...

Really says who???....Why can’t it be changed???? Because it’s written you can’t?..... Since when has that been an issue under Obama who has bypassed all constitutional law that would have otherwise stopped his actions but didn’t.

I don’t believe for one minute that it can’t be changed because any who want to do that will do so regardless...and debates will go on behind the scenes as they always do .

Good letter. And that just covers TPP. What only Wikileaks and a few good sites like Breitbart have reported is that there other two other negotiated agreements TiSA and TTiP. These two are totally secret except for what Wikileaks (God bless them) has released of the TiSA and it’s dreadful. Not even members of Congress are permitted to read TiSA or TTiP! Our government of the cabal, by the cabal, and for the cabal. The federal government has gone rogue. It’s undeniable. What we need is a national strike to shut the economy down until this rogue government comes to heel.

If Cruz is not with Sessions on this then he is not worthy of support for the presidency. Sessions is head and shoulders above the rest. He seems to be the only one in Washington that is not owned by the elites. God bless Jeff Sessions. He keeps his sacred oath to the people.

Could it be he thinks he has to go along with it to get enough votes to win the presidency??? I don't see how one can be pro Constitution and support these trade bills at the same time...

I heard Dave Brat on a Boston conservative radio talk show this afternoon.

He said this is actually a Trans-Pacific Commission.....
a commission with the authority to issue it’s own rules and edicts.

If this passes, we have been sold out big time.
