In other words, Ryan wants to vote to pass a secret bill that is not yet written. How is that logical? Mark Levin was discussing this yesterday; it is a hydra-headed monstrosity.

He isn't suggesting a vote on the TPP. That vote can only come after the text has been made public for 60 days.

He's lobbying for a vote on TPA, which only defines the process for approving the TPP (simple majority, no amendments, etc.).

When the Senate passed the trade bill, I noticed this on a number of news sites:

“The legislation would give Congress the ability to vote for or against — but not amend or filibuster — major international trade agreements negotiated by the White House. It’s known as “fast track” authority because it is designed to speed up and boost the likelihood of the U.S. approving free trade agreements. The pending 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership isn’t expected to be sealed until and if Congress clears the fast-track bill.”

Note the “designed to speed up and boost the likelihood of the U.S. approving free trade agreements.” This TPA is a smoke and mirrors device used to get around the two-thirds vote requirement to pass a treaty, which is what the trade bills are. I talked with a senator’s aide and he slipped and called the bill a treaty. Do you honestly believe the Senate would joyfully approve TPA if they did not have in mind passing the whole deal? To grant their prince Obama fast track authority and then deny his use of it? When have Republicans denied Obama anything he wanted since they took control of Congress?

Can we the people have a vote of no confidence in the whole DC cabal? That’s really what this is about. We have no guarantees that DC won’t undo the whole Republic and its Constitution behind closed doors without letting anybody know, because that’s what they’ve been doing in increments for at least the last 5 years. I think we’re scared spitless of DC doing ANYTHING because we know they are the enemy and that once they sell us into slavery there’s no turning back without a lot of bloodshed.

Maybe it’s too late to skip the bloodshed anyway, if we know things are that out of control. When the level of trust is this low it’s pretty much a King George type of deal and all that’s left is to compile the list of grievances and go ahead with the dissolution of the untrusted ruling class. I don’t know if there’s any way for the polital-media ruling class to gain the trust of the people again.

Just thinking out loud.
