researchers defined food deserts as areas where distance to a supermarket exceeds a quarter-mile????!
I am 1 mile from a supermarket. A mile! Someone buy me a car!
I do have a car but after paying the car payment and for the gas and insurance, I do not have as much money as I want to buy the steak I deserve.
No steak! No justice!

Oddly enough people who actually work for a living (unlike politicians who simple spout oral diarrhea for a living while freely squandering other peoples' money) are actually concerned with making a profit (and incidentally not getting murdered in an armed robbery) SO not many of them want to locate their businesses in high crime low income areas. Let a bunch of bleeding heart liberals open up corner groceries in the hood if they are worried about the hood rats not getting enough food on their our welfare dime.
