On Wednesday night, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (TX-R) essentially tied Senator Marco Rubio in Florida Family Policy Council’s GOP Presidential Straw Poll in Orlando, Fl.
Marco Rubio got 33.7% of the vote whereas Ted Cruz came in a close second with 30.7%.
Jeb Bush and Scott Walker both came in third-place with 8.9% each, Rick Santorum 6.7%, Rand Paul 4.5%, Ben Carson 3.4%, Mike Huckabee 2.2% and Rick Perry 1.1%.
The other 2016 GOP candidates: Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, Bobby Jindal and John Kasich didn’t get any votes.
Political analysts have since viewed this poll as a victory for Ted Cruz. They say he is reinforcing the idea that America’s Conservative voters are deciding early who to rally behind.
The Florida Family Policy Council event was moderated by attorney John Stemberger. He provided an examination of individual candidate strengths and weaknesses prior to the straw poll vote. Decision leads included Carl Stevens, Florida Senator Alan Hayes, Sara Johnson, Byran Empric, Karin Hoffman and Pastor Kurt Kelly.
During the event, Senator Alan Hayes was also recognized for his accomplishments and dedication to successfully passing legislation protecting unborn children in the state.
Go listen to Cruz at Hostage’s link... it needs to be transcripted NOW before it becomes a bigger issue.
We need Ted to do 30 mins on this ASAP, as people aren’t getting the reasons for his vote and his political enemies are obviously making great hay out of, particularly here on FR.
Can you please re-post this comment as a thread? If enough of us beg you?
Can the above pinged **please** ping their lists to this comment?
Boy, Rick Perry is sure burning it up in the polls, isn’t he?
I’m about to the point where I don’t care what the trolls, snipes and perfectionists think about Ted Cruz, ESPECIALLY here.
Me, neither, except for their propensity to jump on each new Cruz thread bleating about the TPP/A and how they were ‘all in’ until this.
Levin would be great. Ted is assuming way more people understand the sausage-making that congress does than actually do. I expect he’ll do an full explanation after Friday’s action on it.
Ted winning and Jeb losing badly in Florida is good news to me!
...Obama doesnt want Americans exporting much of anything except Climate Change Carbon Trading Credits. And he wont get that because he will be out of office before it ever gets near finalization but he knew Hillary could get Climate Change if only millions of illegals could get to the polls to vote democrat.
The floodgates remain open. I'm seeing more and more, in this area, each day. I've also noticed more and more OOS license plates from CA, NY and IL, coming to TX.
Texas is getting a double whammy, right now, in a possible attempt to turn us blue.
Had to chuckle at that.
Nice ;-)
Jeb may be under-performing, but he’s polling much higher than 9% in Florida. This is a straw poll taken at a conservative event. Hardly a representative poll.
No please have at it. Go ahead and copy/edit, do what you have to do. Make it a group effort if possible. In the meantime I am going to try and get a text of Ted Cruz’ incredibly important speech.
And cripplecreek’s suggestion to get Ted 30 minutes with Mark Levin is excellent. Some people on FR can get through to Mark.
Excellent!
I pray every week for Judge Hanen and the justices for the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
As you and I both know this is all about running out the clock.
I think the only real enemies he has on FR are the paulistas.\
Yeah, but they’re running with this BS in *all* conservative forums, trying to divorce the base from Cruz. They’re working what they think is his chink like gold miners.

Yes...they’re running out the clock by continuing to flood the country with illegals...from all over the world.
I like the idea of Cruz being interviewed, by Mark Levin, about the trade agreement. It would be an interesting interview, considering Mark has been one of the most vocal opponents of the deal.
