I lived in one of these pool neighborhoods in Garland, Texas, which is not too far from McKinney. Once my neighbor and I were watching a Hispanic family move in down the street, when she commented, “There goes the neighborhood.” Did I mention that she was black?

My family purchased a home in the Rolling Valley development of Springfield, VA in 1966. A community pool was built, but you had to pay for a membership to use it. If you lived in the community and did not have a membership, you were not even permitted as a guest. It was an expensive proposition. Too expensive for my family at the time. The members were very protective of their very expensive membership in the pool. It doesn't surprise me to see a similar attitude in this situation. If you're not a member, you don't get to use the facility. If you manage to sneak in and then proceed to be disruptive, you have gone way over the line.
