‘Go back to your Section 8 home': TX pool party host describes racially-charged dispute w/neighbor

The host of a Texas pool party that led to the suspension of a police officer says things took a turn for the violent when a neighbor began hurling racial slurs and insults at party-goers.

A woman identified as Tatiana Rhodes, 19, said that she and some friends had organized and were enjoying the party at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool on June 5 when the conflict with a white neighbor broke out.

“This lady was saying racial slurs to some friends that came to the cookout. She was saying such things as ‘black effer’ and ‘that’s why you live in Section 8 homes,’ ” Rhodes told E. Johnson IV, a photographer who recorded the conversation and uploaded it online.

More insults were traded. One neighbor said “go back to your Section 8 home,” Rhodes said, referring to a form of federal housing assistance for low-income people.

Then, according to Rhodes, who is black, a white neighbor “came up to me and smacked me in my face.”

“That’s when both of the women attacked me,” the teen said....

I run the office coffee club. It is not a free service and those that participate pay me monthly fees. Most of it is self policing to ensure that we have enough funding to continue with the service.

One day a higher level manager came by and told me that one of our cleaning crew was “helping himself to the coffee” and not paying. I pointed out that as a white male, I can not say anything to the african american for such theivery. If I did, it would be considered a racist action in the work place.

He just shook his head and agreed. It is a sad culture that the left is creating.

The only source for the supposed “Section 8” comment is her. I’m sure she made it up.

But she refers to “neighbors” and you apparently have no source saying that she herself didn’t live in the community.

Obviously, she’s at fault, but it doesn’t sound like she herself was a non-local trespassing at the pool.

Those parents of the mouthy kids not following a lawful order need to apologize for their child’s behavior.

I don’t understand why this is referred to as a “pool party”: the organizer had no permission to use the pool for such a party.

Agree. It was multiple cases of criminal trespass, public sex and drug use, rioting, assault, interfering with arrest and resisting.

Add to that list underage drinking, disturbing the peace,destruction of property, home invasion and theft.
