“The Ford Ranger would cost as much as an F150, so Ford decided not to sell it here.”

Not really, especially now with their all aluminium version of the F150. The reality is that they thought that they could transition the typical Ranger customer into a base F150.

“Now, they are thinking of selling it here, based on the Transit van.”

That and their hope for customer transition to the F150 is not quite being realized....

Another issue is that CAFE is now applying to trucks. A small pickup will improve their truck CAFE rating. This is why they developed the ego boost.

They saw that Chevy bought back the Colorado, so they decided to think about it.. I hope they do..the Transit van (the E 150 replacement is good...test drove one for our church because they need 6 new passenger vans..)
