On April 29, two days after the biggest spasm of violence following the death of Freddie Gray, the City Councils taxation, finance, and economic development committee took testimony about Establishing a Baltimore City African American Business, Tourism, Entertainment & Heritage Preservation Commission. At issue at the City Council hearing was the way Visit Baltimore, the main government-sponsored tourism booster, markets Baltimore to African-Americans. Echoing a case he has made for years, Lou Fields, President of Baltimore Black Heritage Tours Inc., said Visit Baltimore doesnt understand the African-American market well enough to maximize its effort. In denying this, Tom Noonan, president and CEO of Visit Baltimore, may have bolstered Fields point. -

"Two cities over 250,000 population actually did not vote for ObaMao in 2012: Jacksonville, Florida and Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a mighty short list."Now that's interesting. Do you have a link or data source?

Yep, right after the Molotov cocktail crafting party and before the “how to wear a hoodie during the Nike store looting” hands on workshop.

This constant ‘diversification’ and Balkanization of our country is killing us. Black people have been a part of the American Experience and the greater American Culture for longer than there has been a United States.

Honest to God, I can not think of one major city that is run by Republicans. Even if the mayor where Republican it would be an anomaly like Giuliani in NYC.

They could drive tourists around in a pink Cadillac and point out all the crack houses.

Here’s a hint:
Take a look at any recent presidential-year election map...county-by-county.
You can clearly see the cities and border areas.

Lots of Americans have never been to the abyss ...
It might be interesting.
The city could do tours (daytime of course) with armed security - maybe some off duty police officers to add color and fear.
And guides with perky attitudes that switch to scary on a dime - likes the guides at Disney World's Haunted House. Everyone could sell tourist trap souvenirs - - maybe some broken shards of the burned out CVS?
A talking mannequin (like at Disney World) could explain what happens to people who snitch... and a 'gang member' could sign autographs for five bucks each... Hat's and tee shirts with black culture phrases would be available... for a price. I see a money maker....

They will also take tourists to the Post Office where all the welfare checks are mailed from.

Thieves generally steal what they do not have.
Ergo; do these people come form homes exceptionally limited bodily hygiene resources?

Baltimore getting more “progressive”.
I suggest a “Riot Tour” where you get to loot pharmacies of their narcotics and set them ablaze.
Next would be the dancing on and burning of actual patrol cars with REAL gasoline!
Finish at a TCBY with friends and a free ride back to Amtrak.
