If you get over the idea that it is referred to as the "Ladysmith" .38 Special+P, you can get into the idea that it is light, packs enough punch for short range, and has no hammer exposed to hang up in your parka pocket--and can be fired right through it if need be (Very close range only, of course).
I the Mrs. one, then I got one for me, too.
I generally favor semi-autos but the tactical advantage of being able to shoot from inside the pocket with follow-up shots readily available appealed to me. A semi-auto will jam under those circumstances.
