I almost hate listening to Reagan's speeches. The reason being that they were so good and he was IMHO the greatest President in my lifetime. It depresses me when I hear a speech like "You didn't build that!" or the condescending "Everybody agrees..." or the thuggish statement, "The police acted stupidly."

It makes me want to weep at how far we've fallen since those days when we were a respected country and the world looked to us for leadership.

I don’t! I also agree he was the greatest President in my lifetime.

Just to name some of the good ones...the Challenger (1986), Mr. Gorbachev Tear Down This Wall (1987) &

It’s hard to believe that I was 17 when the (Best One) Pont-du-Hoc (1984) speech was made

So much has happened since the Boys (of the Greatest Generation) sacrificed their lives 71 years ago today on the Beaches, the Drop Zones and in the Air above France. A lot of the brave Soldiers/Airmen/Sailors that I have known or briefly met in my life are gone or are reaching their twilight of life and will soon be rejoining their comrades in arms.

I just want to say again as I have always done growing up....Thank You for your Sacrifice of keeping Myself, my Family (by Blood or Marriage) and Friends...FREE!!

I pray to God that the United States of America is still around in the Future for my Children(s) - Children(s), Children. May they know the Joy of Freedom both through Worship, Work, Play & that you may have to Fight (and Die) for that Freedom and most importantly never take for Granted what it means to be an American!

You expressed my sentiments exactly. Reagan almost came to tears as he was saying those words. I really miss him.
