When we stopped in New Orleans for three days, we took advantage of going on an airboat cruise.
The captain, Captain Allen took us all over the bayous and waterways for a nice, long tour.
He knew where all the alligator yearlings were. They're really cute little things, and they
really love marshmallows. Capt. Allen gave us some marshmallows and we got to feed the little
guys and gals.
Then, He took us to where there was a larger alligator, and he broke off a thin branch and fed the
big guy some marshmallows that he stuck on the end of the brancy:
Then he picked up a little box and took out two tiny baby alligators. He held one of them and asked if I would like to hold it. I leaped at the chance and immediately said "Yeah!"
The baby was kind of wiggling in his hands, but when he put it in my hands, the tiny 'gator just calmed down completely, and sat on my hands quite comfortably.
Capt. Allen with the baby, and next photo, Me with the baby, also in photo #3:
That was the most fun I've ever had on a boat. That is not to forget the very fast moving and maneuvering that Capt. Allen did, and we both, being bikers, really enjoyed the speed and the quick tour back to make up for the leisurely trip out to the
Bayou and the swamps.
Time of my life. I just loved it, and Bryan wasn't disappointed either.
Capt. Allen also took our picture:
