To be gleeful about the short-term lessening of tensions in the North due to Syria’s disintegration is silly.

This is the short calm before the major storm.

very much agreed. ISIS is not a joke. I think without the nuke threat, iran is more of a joke as they cant fight their way out of a paper bag.
even an ex American soldier fighting with the Kurds said these guys can fight.
no match for our army and they have not ONE fighter jet, but tough by that region’s standards.

If ISIS takes over Syria then Israel is in serious trouble.

I guess they just aren’t afraid of ISIS. In fact, ISIS probably is a greater worry for the Arab regimes.

Sure, until ISIS expands into all of Syria, and creeps into Lebanon and Jordan.

If you thought the blood-letting was bad enough, wait until the IS has its hands on the Maronites.

Short term perhaps, long term the jihadists won’t be pleasant neighbors.

Russia said abandoning Assad as Syria regime collapses further
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3295543/posts

Maybe Assad is out of cash for weapons. If so, then Obama will supply ISIS with more weapon to defeat him. Then ISIS will get the WMD that Assad received from Saddam right before the Gulf War II and they’ll use it against Israel.

Once that happens Damascus won’t be inhabited per the Isaiah 17 prophecy.

I actually think it would politically free them to really defend themselves and stop leaving wars unfinished. They start doing the right thing but then the world and their own left wing nuts scream at them and they pull back.

Jihadists are terrorists. The Israelis have been dealing with terrorists for nearly 70 years. While nothing to take lightly, they are not an existential threat. The end of Syria means the end of a capable conventional military force to the north of Israel. That’s probably net plus in the Israeli calculation.

Like they won’t reconstitute? And, to paraphrase, ‘meet the new enemy, same as the old enemy. “. They don’t seriously expect a kinder, more gentle new neighbor, do they?

I hope he’s right.
one thing Assad knew was to keep the Israeli border quiet (lest he get his ass vaporized)

so that maybe wasn’t so terrible? we will have to wait and see what the future brings...

BIBI is hitting back....

at the UK’s National Union of Students hours after it passed a motion 'to boycott Israel',...

BIBI stated....."They boycott Israel but they refuse to boycott ISIS. That tells you everything you want to know about the BDS movement. They condemn Israel and do not condemn ISIS; they condemn themselves,” Netanyahu said Wednesday, using acronyms for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement and Islamic State, the radical terror group that has established a self-styled caliphate in Syria and Iraq. “Israel has an exemplary democracy. We have academic freedom, press freedom, human rights. ISIS tramples human rights to the dust,” he said in remarks delivered alongside visiting Canadian Foreign Minister Robert Nicholson. “It burns people alive in cages and the national student groups in Britain refuse to boycott ISIS and have boycotted Israel. It tells you everything you want to know about the BDS movement,” he said.
