Attorneys: Waco shooting detainees could be legal liability
Killeen Daily Herald ^ | June 2, 2015 | Clay Thorp

Posted on 06/02/2015 6:26:00 AM PDT by don-o

Defense attorneys representing many of those jailed for the Twin Peaks shooting in Waco said law enforcement officials in McLennan County are overseeing an unprecedented and unlawful mass arrest of innocent bikers as more were released Monday at the behest of their attorneys.

Killeen residents Justin Nash Waddington, Ester Sandy Weaver, Walter Thomas Weaver and Zebulon Harris; Colter Bajovich and Ronald Atterbury, both of Gatesville; Daryle Walker of Harker Heights and Glenn Walker of Copperas Cove are among those in the McLennan County Jail on charges of engaging in organized crime. Each is being held on a $1 million bond.

“That was an immediate red flag,” said Josh Tetens, a defense attorney in Waco representing Roy Covey, speaking of the initial arrest of almost 200 bikers. “I think Judge Peterson said it well when he said that his sole reason for setting million-dollar bonds against so many people under the exact same charge was to ‘send a message,’ which I believe in and of itself is completely unconstitutional.”

Defense attorneys said the mass jailing of defendants has exposed McLennan County to expensive lawsuits.

“Salute when anybody in uniform marches past”

such as a uniform with the Texas rocker on it?

A uniform is described by authority, and the uniform of bikers in Texas is prescribed by the Bandidos.

“The tax payers need to clean house starting with Sgt. Swanton, his supervisors, the DA and Judge Peterson.”

If I were a citizen of Waco I would be happy that the police have shown that Waco will not be held hostage to MC gangs.

There were no Bandido snipers in Waco that I know of. Do you?

You sound EXACTLY like the conservatives who reflexively defended LT Calley against the "liars" in the anti-war movement. EXACTLY.

I did however take the exact opposite position.

(The official story from the Cyber Warriors, in a parallel universe long ago.)

"Thank goodness that LT. Calley and his heroic soldiers happened to be strolling past My Lai, so they could stop that vicious battle between feuding Vietnamese clans."

YET.

Indeed.

If the “Lt. Calley” in this situation exists, he should be identified.

I view the red circles around a certain cop in your posted photos as overreach, bordering on if not actually defamation. Just because there might be a LT Calley, does not give one the license to circle a person who might be innocent.

He might be a family man like the Vice Grips Club members.

Yes, they did. They bragged about the “useful idiots” they could count on in this Country to forward their agenda.

Still we got past all that. Thanks to Ronald Reagan, etc.

In this situation, the “useful idiots” have to be the “legitimate” bikers who — well this is not the wording I would have chosen, but it is what the threads use — lick the boots of the 1 % ers.

“after appropriate fees are paid to the Bandidos”

I saw something about that just today, as a possible cause of the altercation at Twin Peaks. Heck, I can’t be expected to keep track of everything, but that is no doubt the case.

Bikers have to PAY for the Texas Bottom Rocker. And if they choose not to? What might then happen, even in a restaurant parking lot? Just asking.

“government EBT payment”

Hmmmm. Are biker gangs involved in EBT fraud? That has been documented in the inner cities.

Those of use who earn our own livings from the sweat of our brows, and who pay our taxes, should be indeed worried about EBT fraud. It is rampant.

This reference caused me to wonder if the biker gangs might be involved as well in EBT fraud.

Maybe not. Maybe that would be chump change compared to their main endeavors of drug running and protecting drug cartels from south of the border. The amount of money those cartels would pay for protection on OUR side of the border, probably makes food stamp fraud merely chump change.
