Defense attorneys representing many of those jailed for the Twin Peaks shooting in Waco said law enforcement officials in McLennan County are overseeing an unprecedented and unlawful mass arrest of innocent bikers as more were released Monday at the behest of their attorneys.
Killeen residents Justin Nash Waddington, Ester Sandy Weaver, Walter Thomas Weaver and Zebulon Harris; Colter Bajovich and Ronald Atterbury, both of Gatesville; Daryle Walker of Harker Heights and Glenn Walker of Copperas Cove are among those in the McLennan County Jail on charges of engaging in organized crime. Each is being held on a $1 million bond.
That was an immediate red flag, said Josh Tetens, a defense attorney in Waco representing Roy Covey, speaking of the initial arrest of almost 200 bikers. I think Judge Peterson said it well when he said that his sole reason for setting million-dollar bonds against so many people under the exact same charge was to send a message, which I believe in and of itself is completely unconstitutional.
Defense attorneys said the mass jailing of defendants has exposed McLennan County to expensive lawsuits.

Nothing to see here, honest..
/ end obvious sarc.. and possibly related link.
McLennan Co doesn’t have room for them all so they’re spread around the state which is costing the taxpayers of McLennan Co even more $$$$$. Those other institutions don’t give out cells for free. The tax payers need to clean house starting with Sgt. Swanton, his supervisors, the DA and Judge Peterson.
What, is your ox getting gored?
Why weren't the mosque members arrested en mass for NOT preventing the attempted MURDER recently in Dallas? They have 1400 years of being COMMANDED to MURDER, and to PROVIDE and SUPPORT MURDER!
They are truly GUILTY. I suppose it's justice for just us.
Guilt by association! Some bikers are hard core bad guys. But most are not.
These cops were brainwashed, probably by the Feds, that all Bikers are drug dealers or terrorists. Many are vets and many are constitutionalists (terrorists according to the DOD and Homeland inSecurity). A few are drug dealers. None are Muslim terrorists that I have ever heard of.
After taking some time to review some things in the middle of this mess I have discovered several things. One is that while those who call for “cooler heads” may be reasonable we “little people” don’t always have the luxury of time. Europes Jews in the 40s and folks like Solshenitzen found themselves caught up in a tide they might have avoided had they been attentive.
Two events bear examination to help us understand these things. The Ludlow Massacre and the Kent State shooting. Both of these events took decades for the truth to really come out. Folks in authority who had behaved in ways that were criminal were not held to account to any reasonable degree. Read for yourself and discover the Colo. NG Lt. who had Tikas in his custody when he was last seen alive was acquitted. The ONG Sgt. That fired his 1911 handgun that precipitated the ensuing volley was acquitted. If history has anything to teach, “the truth” about Twin Peaks will be suppressed for quite some time. Once it is known there will not be any meaningful accounting.
We don’t have decades to be attentive to our surroundings in order to protect our families and communities. Hat tip to the FReeper who pointed out that if there was official misconduct the truth would be aggressively distorted and suppressed and there would never be anyone significantly held responsible. No comfort for the families of those affected but that is the way it is. Ludlow and Kent State both support this conclusion.
The events leading up to both of these atrocities have lessons to teach as well. The anti war protestors were fighting conscription that was requiring them to go halfway round the world and kill and be killed by yellow people for reasons that were not clear at the time. The Italian immigrant coal miners were fighting an intolerable situation. Stranded in what was nearly wilderness conditions they were required to daily subject themselves to dangers that were approaching actual combat levels of danger just to daily lose ground in supporting their families. To further enrich one of the wealthiest men in human history. Both groups had serious, legitimate grievances. Both groups were organized and led by Communist Instigators.
How could these events have been avoided? Years of work answering this question have been done. It seems to me the important thing was that “the little people” were horrified by the undeniable facts that were immediately known and in spite of “the truth” being suppressed both these events precipitated reforms that addressed the grievances. So Twin Peaks will remain obscured for a long time to come, those responsible will never be held significantly to account. However, the “little people” are paying attention, will come to their own conclusions and reforms will come.
The only one who is fairly well insulated from legal action is the "set unreasonable bail to send 'em a message" judge.
“Theyre just crushed, Looney said. These people have lived exemplary lives and now their whole community thinks theyre thugs and murderers.”
A Texas biker can wear the bottom “Texas” rocker only if sanctioned by the Bandidos motorcycle gang:
“Territory: The South, concentrated in Texas
Approximate membership: 2,500
At more than 2,000 members, the Bandidos are one of the largest gangs in America. Though the gang was only just founded in 1996, the gang has a presence in 16 states and 14 countries. The influence of the gang has led the federal government to name them among the Big Four MCs (Pagans, Hells Angels, Outlaws, and Bandidos). The Bandidos’ home base is in Texas, where they specialize in smuggling drugs across the U.S.-Mexican border. Their aggressive, effective expansion has been evidenced in their involvement in crimes as far afield as Norway and Australia.”
So my question is, “How many of the arrested choirboys were wearing the bottom Texas rocker”?
No, theyre baaaaack.
************************************************************************
The boots must have been all licked and they’ve received their first of the month government EBT payment, so they’re back...ready and and rarin’ to go.
I think by now people just scroll past them.
It has been determined the district attorneys office was not involved in yesterdays attempt to get defendants to waive their rights of litigation in exchange for bonds, Looney said.”
This is a retraction of his previous press release, in which he also accused the county public defender’s office of being involved, despite the fact that the county does not have such an office. His Waco clients should get better representation, Looney may not be able to find the Court House.
Local news seems to have a perspective which is different than some of these threads. We need more of that, thanks for the links.

How many of the arrested choirboys were wearing the bottom Texas rocker?
And how many failed to notice the Texas rocker on the 60-70 Cossacks who showed up at Twin Peaks, in open defiance of Bandido hegemony?
Maybe the recreational bikers have indeed lived “exemplary lives” (despite associating with criminal gangs). But one wonders about their common sense and survival instinct hanging around TP that day. This was obviously not going to be an ordinary meeting to discuss legislative issues.
I like this.
So do I.
The indiscriminate mass arrests prove the police are in the wrong, even before studying Travis's photos. Of course, if Travis's theory is correct, they are more than in the wrong. They are a bunch of capital murderers!
Well, that post is an outright lie, so it isn’t like you either have or can regain any credibility.
You are still sticking up for Lt. Calley’s story about hist soldiers breaking up a firefight between Vietnamese clans at My Lai.
It’s just pathetic at this point. Unless you are being paid, then I understand, it’s just about the coin, it’s just a “cyber warrior” job.
I did exactly the opposite. Reread my post please. Calley was legitimately subject to courts martial. Ethical soldiers such as Sgt. Larry made that clear to us, despite the “conservative press” who wanted to turn Calley into a victim of the anti-war activists.
I'm just sick of people who automatically begin goose-stepping and throwing out the Hitler Salute when anybody in uniform marches past. Way sick.
Typo:
ATF or the Waco PD/SWAT
I am however tired of people throwing up the Hitler Salute to prior posts, instead of thoughtfully reading other people’s posts.
