Whew! Sounds like you and we (east coast) are having the same heat wave. It was hot and muggy all weekend; however we did have a breeze to stir the air; just need rain!

The funny part is that, I think it was NOAA who predicted that we would be below average on our side of the country. Someone up there didn’t get that memo! hehe

Oh boy, son-boy will soon be a graduate, and will have to make a living soon. Is he going off to college? Or getting a job?

I did actually have a restful weekend even though it was busy; mostly running roads. Young-son smoked a brisket and two London broils on Sunday so we joined a group of their (his fiancee´) friends/family. It was hot, though.

Another short week for me, as this will be my Friday off. We will be going to visit #3 son on Saturday, and maybe if we’re lucky we might even get a swim in. LOL

Guess I need to get back to work.

Been a busy Monday (and I have to attend an online company meeting (we’ve been bought) soon, but I had to stick my nose in real quick to say I loved the story of Nancy Wake. I think I’ll hunt down her biography.

However she was never awarded a medal by the Australian government. When the Australian Returned Services League recommended that Wake be awarded a medal, they were turned down. Angry at the Australian government’s attitude, Wake decided that she would never accept a medal from them: she vowed it would go down in history that the most decorated Australian had never been awarded an Australian medal.

I know it's a few days after the fact, but I really think the record needs to be corrected on this. While it was true at one stage - that the Labor government of the 1990s refused to award Nancy Wake an Australian decoration when the issue was raised, this was corrected in 2004 by the conservative Howard government when Nancy Wake was invested as a Companion of the Order of Australia - the highest honour Australia bestowed at that time.
