When Trump declared to the Republican Party of Iowas Lincoln Dinner that he is going to make an announcement in June thats going to surprise a lot of people, he wasnt preparing to launch his long-awaited candidacy. He was simply doing what he always does: Promote the Donald. Generate headlines. Get people talking.
His June announcement is guaranteed to raise all of the excitement of such previous bids for publicity as Donald Trump Announces Mens Fragrance (March 24), Donald Trump Announces Phil Mickelson Villa at Trump National Doral (March 5), Donald Trump Announces Florida International University as new Home for Miss Universe (Dec. 11) and the game-changing, envelope-pushing, earths-orbit-reversing, Donald Trump Announces Partnership with Prestwick Airport (Nov. 14).
On March 18, Trump made his big announcement that he was about to form a presidential exploratory committee. All of the political press covered it. But it was pure Trump a way to say something that attracts suckers in the press without actually doing anything.
Presidential campaigns have to register with the Federal Election Commission. Exploratory committees do not. They dont have to do much of anything except avoid getting involved in a presidential campaign, which would trigger FEC regulations.

Even if he actually runs, that will be his purpose.
If he doesn't get enough attention, he'll turn around and attack the Republican front-runner. Maybe even go the Ross Perot route.
Donald Trump Announces Latest Colonoscopy - Enjoyed It.
Well, if he does I hope he wins. He wants to kick out the illegals and seems no one else is big on that, except I think Cruz.
To me that is the most important point of the election. Besides not getting a Dem in.
People voted for Obama because he told them what they wanted to hear too.
Trump is full of crap. He just wants to see how far nerve and free PR take him
So you believe words that came out of Trump’s mouth?
I don’t trust Trump on illegals. He’s a blow hard, he will do whatever best for himself
Well you could say that about all the candidates.
But why aren’t the others focused on the illegal problem. It is the biggest problem out there, our country is being handed over to Mexico’s illiterate for the Democratic vote.
California is overrun with the problem. Not enough water to go around and letting it be flooded with Mexicans. Makes no sense except if you are getting elected as a Dem and living high on the hog.
Rubio is part of the pathway to citizenship. Many of the others have not made it a part of their campaign.
If Trump is not telling the truth he is the only one who at least recognizes it is a big problem that needs to be dealt with.
And Trump is a known lying unethical ass.
He’ll save us!
LOL
So who are you thinking will ‘save us’, because it sure isn’t going to be some of these candidates we have.
Trump is like a weather vane. He turns to point to the direction of the wind but doesn’t actually do anything to create or change it.
A few years back, Trump puffed himself up to tell us how he bravely kicked Gaddafi off his property. What Trump didn’t do was explain why he rented the land to Gaddafi in the first place.
That is typical trump.
No one is going to “save us”. That’s up to us.
The guy who continues to support democrats and gives the Clintons money is only going to harm us.
I agree with you 100%.
Also we are sending all of our industry to China and to other countries.
America will not do well, eventually, if we just import things. We need to bring back manufacturing right here, but (neither) party is saying that.
Trump is all alone. I strongly support the guy at the moment.
Kid all you want, but he’s right, and he’s alone in being right at the moment.
I feel he’ll announce he’s running in two weeks, and I also predict as things stand right now, he’ll be our next president.
Unless something big shakes up the race.
Sarah Palin would be such a game-changer, but with our current bunch I believe Trump will be a very big player.
I have a hard time believing that anyone here actually believes him, and thinks he’s a viable candidate....yet they do.
