I would add that when no-fault divorce became common and ordinary, that act was the beginning of the end. It was only a matter of time before living together and then queer sex marriages became the norm.

When scientists became able to facilitate the creation of life via test tubes, artificial insemination, etc., that didn’t help, either. It made it possible for homosexual couples to gain a semblance of family, no matter how freakish the circumstances.
