What exactly is a thoughtful, rational person to DO with all of this?
The most disturbing aspect is the willingness of some FReepers to resort to name calling.
Somewhat on this thread, esp. recent posts; more on other threads relating to the topic.
I have seen posts calling other FReepers names, attacking them in personal ways such as to their IQ, or to their sexual inclinations — unprovoked personal attacks. WHY? (Rhetorical question).
How can we engage in a conversation, to arrive at TRUTH? With such name calling?
Of course this is not your doing, nor the result of your posting this source. You have been tolerant of others in your own, our, mutual search of truth.
I have seen — pictures of cops who also deserve the presumption of innocence — having their pictures circled in red with accusatory remarks. Might that not jeopardize not only their personal reputations, but their lives? HOW does the wanton, emotional accusation of LE guilt, without specific evidence, before any ruling by court of law, differ from the assertion that bikers have been unduly charged? Who are indeed having due process even if not in the most expeditious manner.

This is not the Free Republic forum I joined 15 years ago. Now, Freepers are forced off the forum by personal attacks. Opinions, based up evidence, are not wanted here by some, if they do not agree with the “approved narrative.”
That is the modus-operandi of the left, NOT of Free Republic! That is the tactic of the left. Silence other view points, by any means. Name calling, etc., all is fair game, to shut down alternative opinion.
FR has always been and should still be FAR BETTER THAN THAT. Not on this and related threads, sadly. OH many of you have been willing to honestly engage in debate. Still, again, the name calling surfaces.
I will contribute to this forum to the extent I feel compelled to do so. Otherwise, I am quite disgusted as to the discourse of some.
This is a SAD time, not only for our Great Country, but for the Free Republic forum, when one cannot express a reasoned opinion without being subject to name calling. Another sad day for our Great Country. Servus of course. Not that it matters.
I do not see much use in intemperate language, name calling etc. But, my concern with it is way down the list in light of the serious issues that this case raises. “Who shall guard the guardians?” is the most important question that a free people must deal with.
