Sadly, America has seen this before. While “the prince may not wield the sword in vain” he does so maliciously at his own peril. It is not taught in schools because it shows how easily evil slips in among us but about 100 years ago it was the Ludlow Massacre. Afterwards the miners armed themselves and sent the governor a message. Return the guardsmen to Denver or be prepared to receive them in pine boxes. The resulting inquiries into the event led to JD Rockefeller explaining it to a Congressional Committee. His infamous quote, “it takes machine guns to mine coal” led to the creation of the first PR firm to resurrect his tarnished image. Whoever is in charge at Waco might want to ponder the lessons of Ludlow. It doesn’t take machine guns to govern Americans. Moreover, any attempt to do so will be met with the expected result. We don’t hunt deer ‘cuz we need the food. Just keeping the skills up.
I gotta read about Ludlow, I had not known of it!
