I’ve always wondered how they localize climate change - in one city it’s warmer than ‘usual’ and in another city two states away it’s ‘cooler’ than usual.

...and winter like conditions in the NE.

Now it's drought in the NE...try to keep up. :-)

Melted.

Seriously...hasn't rained in quite a while. It had been a very dry May...people rototilling their gardens are kicking up a lot of dust.

The highest level ever recorded on the Brazos in Rosharon Texas was in 1913 at 56’. Expected to crest at 49’ in Rosharon in the next day or so. The river has been higher than the current event in Rosharon 7 times in the past 100 years.

Last I read was the snow won’t be melted until late summer. Something about melting a snowman to determine how long it will be before summer arrives.

Snow plowed up into small mountains doesn’t count, although there are still a few of those here and there...maybe the severe thunderstorms heading our way will help. (Rain for my pole beans, please.)

As a practicing meteorologist for 40 years, I have to tell you...THAT was funny.

...it’s consistent with what we would expect from climate change.

Only if you are a drooling moron.

Otherwise, no.

...so I'm watching the radar; the approaching line of sever storms closing in...I'm hoping that even a decent short-lived downpour will wet the dust enough to make my pole beans happy campers. The skies darken, the wind comes up, and...hello? Rain? It falls lightly, barely wetting the dirt driveway...it falls lightly for another ten minutes; then stops. Disappointment sets in...I will have to water by hand again, which is a pain because the ground is so dry that it runs off before it gets wet enough to soak in...chews up a lot of time and water.

Best to make lemonade out of lemons...I'll put out a few trays of tomatoes and peppers for a couple of hours of 'post-storm' sun. A few minutes after putting my trays out, I hear this roaring noise. I step to the front door...it's raining. I mean, downpour city. I check the local radar...the main storms have moved on, but a small but intense cell has materialized in my neighborhood. I zoom in...the most intense red color of the cell (indicating heaviest precipitation) is right over my house. I didn't even pray. My Father in heaven was aware of my disappointment, and sent the rain. MY wife and I just went to check the beans...ground plenty damp, no watering required. In fact, many bean plants had sprouted since last night...all is good.

Don't believe in God? Man...do I feel sorry for you.

Nuts...’sever’ should have been ‘severe’...where’s that edit feature?
