You are right. It imbues them with a sense of superiority. This makes them feel special and empowered to lecture others from the “moral high ground”. Liberals love the emotional high they get from this.
The sad thing is that they’ve fallen for the lie of Gen 3:4-5 and believe they can “save themselves” through their own advocacy.
