Biker attorney seeks to replace judges, demands immediate release of clients
Waco Tribune ^ | 5/26/15 | TOMMY WITHERSPOON

An attorney for two men arrested in the May 17 Twin Peaks shootout between rival bikers says his clients are being held illegally and is seeking to replace all McLennan County judges connected to the case.

Austin attorney Adam Reposa alleges in motions filed Tuesday that the charging documents filed against his clients, and the 168 others jailed in the chaotic melee, are legally insufficient.

He also claims that the $1 million bonds are unreasonably oppressive and that the judge who set them and the judges who, so far, have not reduced them have shown bias and should be recused.

Reposa represents Jimmy Pond and Thomas Paul Landers. He said Pond, a mechanic from Hays County, is the sole supporter of his family, which includes a disabled wife and autistic son.

Besides the recusal motion, Reposa filed an application for writ of habeas corpus, alleging a client is being held illegally and without proper cause, and a motion for emergency release so Pond can go home and take care of his family.

After the shootout, in which nine were killed and 18 wounded, Reposa said officials “commandeered” the Waco Convention Center as a makeshift holding area while they tried to sort out the magnitude of the event.

“Texas” Gator never reads anything. He or she is a complete fanatic, unable to process new information, and continuously sidetracks any meaningful conversation with nonsensical trivia and foolishness.

You are a fool, filled with outrageous hyperbole, and clearly are a Soros troll intended to pollute all discussions on Free Republic. I shall never understand why you are tolerated on this forum. The day you are removed, the world will become a better place.-

“The folks at the Conservative Treehouse are good researchers but they aren’t without their own biases.”

I haven’t read them much but what I see on this is click-bait appealing to certain types.

For example, someone started a thread from the CTH article that lead with the headline (paraphrased) cops fire thousands of rounds. Curious, I went to the article and they didn’t source it by name but did give a link probably knowing most would never get past the headline.

Well the link was to the filing of the lawsuit by Don Carlos against Twin Peaks. It was pure pull a big number out of your ass lawyer speak to make the lawsuit more ‘credible’.

Not only that, the filing said (paraphrased) that is was thousands of rounds fire by LE AND bikers.

Interesting that CTH would go with a headline that has no factual basis AND would distort it also!

“The link you just posted is to a very thoughtful post by “sundance” at Conservative Treehouse. He doesn’t have a dog in this fight and his article is simply a good analysis/assessment based on the the VERY limited amount of facts that are available.”

So you find that his basic assessment is very good. I do too.

“No-one here is saying the police, in totality, did anything wrong.”

I have heard one supposed statement that 3 bikers were killed by other bikers. The problem with that is the person remained anonymous.

I'd suggest you carefully read the first hand account yourself and stop relying on third parties for information. There are some basic facts in there which cannot be disputed and will help guide you to the truth. It should also be painfully obvious why an eyewitness would want to remain anonymous in this situation.

I am not absolutely positive but I think he may have once stayed at a Holliday Inn.

Your presence on this forum sullies us all, TicklesGayBar.

“It should also be painfully obvious why an eyewitness would want to remain anonymous in this situation. “

1. You expect that a biker might whack you, or
2. You expect that a cop might whack you.

But a cop wouldn’t whack you if you are pointing the finger against the Bandidos ... unless the cops are actually part of the Bandidos gang.

But I was told that the Cossacks were a front for the cops.

So, here we have a Cossack, probably an undercover cop, pointing the finger at the Bandidos who is afraid his fellow cops will whack him for exposing their undercover front.

Clear now?

You, personally, have converted several Free Republic users from people who would trust the cops, to people who no longer do.

Good job, TicklesGaybar.

I don’t remember but it is common knowledge in Texas. The feds have been after the Bandidos for years. They created the Cossacks to challenge the Bandidos and gather intelligence about them.

Unfortunately for them, the Bandidos smartened up and whacked them.

At least that is the story as I heard it.

Why is it when the multi-agency police forces shoot up an obscure denomination church group FReepers expressed the appropriate horror and outrage, but when it is a meeting of people who were brought together over motorcycle riders' issues, we have a full jackboot cheerleading squad?

The same rights are being violated, and if you don't stand up for those rights for everyone, you are cheering the loss of them.

You people act like everyone who rides a motorcycle is straight from the cast of "Sons of Anarchy".

You can absorb the fact that the TEA Party has been roundly demonized in the Liberal press, but can't wrap your pointed heads around the fact that other groups have been demonized as well, and that the demonization of 'bikers' goes way back--decades.

Go ahead, suck up the Alinsky, lap up that dog vomit the press is putting out--they don't have any more 'facts' than anyone else.

IF THE POLICE ARE IN THE RIGHT, WE WOULD HAVE SEEN THE VIDEOS THE SAME DAY.

Ignore the profit potential in seizing 170 motorcycles, each worth well over $10,000 Ignore the roundup and blanket million dollar bail amounts.

But understand this: any tactic the police use once and do not get called on, will be used again. The precedents you allow can and will be used against you.

Why do decent riders have to go to meetings organized by the Bandidos to discuss their rights? WTF are decent riders paying extortion money to the Bandidos? WTF are decent riders even in the same room with the Bandidos? WTF are decent riders here comparing the Bandidos to Patrick Henry? WTF!

“we have a full jackboot cheerleading”

Where is this full jackboot cheerleading? Cite the posts!

I just don’t remember any time in history when almost 200 men were held on $1,000,000 bail and all being charged with organized crime. for a rumble?

Yeah, but since the Danziger Bridge Murders outcome in New Orleans during Katrina, the cops now know that they have to either kill any witnesses to the murders they commit, or otherwise keep them quiet.

A federal judge sentenced four of the officers convicted of participating in the shootings to terms ranging from 38 years to 65 years, according to local media reports. The fifth officer received six years for covering up the killings.

They made me a better person, once I recovered from the hopeless state of mind and body. See, God has a way of turning bad into good. Says so right in the Bible.

Let me guess: You don't believe in God, or the Bible, right, TicklesGaybar?

hmmm. Like the outlaw gangs are not a threat to our rights?

“You people act like everyone who rides a motorcycle is straight from the cast of “Sons of Anarchy”.

Balderdash. That has not been said here. However, what has been said is that if you don’t want to be looked upon as a bad character, don’t hang around with bad characters.
